I am an experienced therapist who specializes in working with individuals and couples who are struggling with relationship, marital and sexual issues. As a distinguished professor, author, researcher, and a relationship educator and coach, I am known for my commitment to helping people develop loving and compassionate relationships with themselves and with others in their lives. Additionally, I am an active clinician and I often present workshops and programs through my practice, in collaboration with community groups, and at local and national conferences on subjects such as sexual trauma, family violence, genograms, and relationship enhancement. A primary focus of my clinical practice is working with couples at the "brink of divorce". Often these complicated relationships involve anger management problems, addictions, and unsatisfying personal and intimate lives. My approach to therapy is proactive and client-centered and I use a comprehensive, integrative approach in my work with individuals, couples and families.
