About Christina Veselak
I am a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. My treatment approach is to provide loving support and practical feedback to help you resolve both current problems and long-standing patterns. With sensitivity, respect and compassion, I help you find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.
Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I draw on a variety of styles and techniques to create an approach that will be most helpful for you. I work in partnership with each client to help you build on your strengths to identify and achieve your life goals.
Through my experience and training as a Mental Health Nutritionist, I have come to see how deeply our personal biochemistry affects our mood and behavior. I find that most of the time, we can find effective alternatives to psychiatric medication. I help my clients identify nutritionally based issues such as protein intake, blood sugar balance, food intolerances, or genetic issues in order to reduce depression, anxiety, insomnia, and even some psychotic symptoms. It is my experience that most complex disorders have both emotional and biochemical components to them. Therefore, we need to address both at approximately the same time to achieve relief most quickly.
Having been a licensed psychotherapist for 30 years, I enjoy teaching what I have learned to other professionals. I offer online and in-office classes in nutritional approaches to mental health and addiction recovery, inner child work, hypoglycemia and other related topics. I also consult for treatment programs around the country and help them integrate effective nutritional interventions into their programs. I am a founding member and support the work of The Alliance for Addiction Solutions, and offer trainings through it around the country.
