Jordan touched on the family feud during his season of The Bachelorette. Clearly, the family is having a difficult time dealing with the rift and opening up about it.
There have been many claims about where this feud stems from, one of them being that it is due to Aaron’s relationship with a famous actress.
However, the details of the feud are still a bit of a mystery. Here are the aspects of the falling out that we do know.
Keep reading to find out the details of Jordan and Aaron Rodgers’ relationship and family feud.
1. Jordan & Aaron Rodgers' feud was brought up on The Bachelorette
Jordan was a contestant on JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. Jordan clearly fought hard to win JoJo’s heart, but it was also brought up that he was fighting just as hard with his brother Aaron.
His family problems were first brought up and announced to the public through the popular ABC dating show. Jordan mentioned that his brother, Aaron, is a well-known quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. He also stated that he and his family are not on speaking terms with the football player. This information was a lot to take in for JoJo as well as Bachelor nation, especially because Jordan did not provide too many details about the feud.
However, Jordan did say to JoJo that, “it’s just the way [Aaron]’s chosen to do life. I chose to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother [Luke].”
When Jordan was asked why he opened up about his family drama on national television, he admitted that “You know, I didn’t even think about it going into the show. I probably should’ve. I just wasn’t familiar with the show, but my goal was to be honest with [JoJo] every step of the way.”
Another interesting tidbit of information is that Aaron refused to support his brother and watch The Bachelorette. He even went so far as to say that he actively avoided the show. Although, he did take the time to pass along well wishes to Jordan in an interview.
Aaron said, “I haven’t seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot. As far as those kinds of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.”
2. Jordan plans to invite Aaron to his wedding
Jordan did win the show and is currently engaged to JoJo Fletcher.
When Us Weekly asked him if he would invite his brother to his wedding, Jordan said, “absolutely, there is no scenario in which I wouldn’t want my entire family at a wedding. That’s something all of our family wants and hopes for at some point.”
3. The rift is apparently because Aaron did not attend an important wedding and funeral
A source from ET online stated that Aaron was set to be a groomsman in the wedding of one of his close friends. However, he backed out the day prior by sending a last-minute text.
He also allegedly did not attend his grandfather’s funeral to avoid his family. Although, he was reportedly close with his grandfather and used to call him before every game.
4. It has been said that the feud was over Olivia Munn
Aaron dated the famous actress Olivia Munn in May 2014. Apparently, Aaron stopped talking to his family soon after him and Munn began dating in 2014. It has been reported that she is the reason for the family becoming distant.
A source from the New York Times reported that Munn and Aaron wanted to keep the reason for the feud under wraps but that the family had a huge falling out “over the actress.” Despite Munn and Aaron splitting up in April 2017, the feud appears to still be going strong.
5. Olivia Munn allegedly got into a fight with Jordan
Jordan claimed that Munn was using his brother and dating him for his status and personal gain.
A source told Radar Online that “Olivia and Aaron’s brother Jordan had a huge blowout fight a couple years back in LA. Jordan accused Olivia of using Aaron to boost her fame and status! The fight started over Jordan accusing her of not allowing Aaron time to spend with his family and escalated from there to Jordan calling her fame hungry.”
6. Aaron publicly dissed his family’s religion
In January 2020, Aaron had a personal conversation with Danica Patrick, his current girlfriend, on her Pretty Intense podcast.
Aaron stated that he had a difficult time connecting with his religious community when he was a kid. He said, “Most people that I knew, church was just… you just had to go.” This comment allegedly hurt his family’s feelings since they are very involved with the church and dedicated to their Christian faith.
A source told People Magazine that “his comments are basically a slap in the face to the fundamentals of who they are. It’s basically him turning his back on everything they have taught him.”
7. The Rodgers Family also stated that Aaron has changed since becoming famous
Not only was Jordan on The Bachelorette, but his family also appeared when he received a hometown date in which JoJo traveled to their house to meet the Rodgers family.
Obviously, Aaron was not there, but JoJo got to meet his parents and their other brother, Luke.
Edward Rodgers, their father, stated that “Fame can change you” when asked about the rift between the family and Aaron.
8. The third brother, Luke, claims he misses Aaron
JoJo Fletcher got to have a discussion with the third brother, Luke. In this conversation, he admitted that they do not like to talk about the situation but did say that it “pains both of us. We miss our brother.”
9. Aaron does not talk about the feud publicly
Even though the Rodgers family has mentioned the feud publicly, Aaron refuses to discuss the topic to the public.
A source from People Magazine claims that, “Aaron has never wanted to air this out in a public forum. He’s going through great precautions not to make things worse. You’re not going to see him on Oprah crying about all of this. He will deal with his family issues privately.”
10. Aaron’s family has to purchase football tickets now
If you are related to an NFL quarterback, it usually comes with some advantages like free tickets to the games. However, the family’s perks have been revoked.
According to ET Online, “The family was told they were no longer welcome in Green Bay. If dad wants to attend a game now, he buys tickets on StubHub or goes through another player’s family.”
