Who Is Peter Weber's Mom? Barb Weber Was The Star Of His 'Bachelor' Finale And Not In A Good Way — Watch
Barb has become an internet sensation.
After what turned out to be a pretty strange season of The Bachelor, Peter Weber's run came to an end on Tuesday night ... and in a way that no one expected.
But in the end, the real star of the show turned out to be Weber's mom, Barbra, who has certainly made a splash on social media after her appearance on After The Final Rose.
So who is Peter Weber's mom, Barb, and why does she have everyone talking? Here's what you need to know.
1. Weber popped the question to Hannah Ann Sluss, only to change his mind and go for it with Madison Prewett instead.
As fans who have been keeping up with this season already know, Prewett decided to leave The Bachelor because her religious convictions not to have sex before marriage didn't line up with Weber's and with only Sluss left, she's who Weber proposed to. But not long after their engagement, Weber ended things with Sluss, who felt totally blindsided and he and Prewett reconnected, hoping to see if they could make their relationship work, although Weber has admitted that they both have a lot of healing to do after their experience on the show.
2. Weber's mom, Barbra, has made it clear that she doesn't approve of their relationship.
On After The Final Rose, Barbra looked very disapproving as Weber and Prewett talked about their relationship on stage together and when host Chris Harrison asked for her opinion, she didn't have many positive things to say — and she wasn't happy that Prewett kept them waiting when it was her turn to meet the family on the show.
'He's going to have to fail to succeed. That's it," Barbra said. "All his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it's not going to work. So we've been trying to help them. Would we want it to work? Yes."
3. But who is Peter Weber's mom, Barb? She's a realtor who stays focused on her family.
Weber's mother lives in California (not far from the Bachelor mansion), where she works as a realtor. Her Instagram is populated with photos of her husband, who is a pilot like Weber and both of her sons. It's clear that family means a lot to her — she's proven as much during her few appearances on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette — but at this point, it's not clear where her relationship with Weber stands.
4. She received a lot of backlash online for her behavior on After The Final Rose.
Fans immediately took to Twitter after seeing Barbra's response to Weber's relationship with Prewett, with most of them disapproving of the way she handled the situation on live TV. "Peter’s Mom Barb is the worst. Narcissistic, manipulative, helicopter parent. What’s wrong with Madison besides her religious views? Also her saying, 'Say something bad, too. Help me' in Spanish to Peter’s dad to help talk bad about Madison?" one fan tweeted, while another wrote, "Peter’s mom is going to be the sole reason her son never finds love. Madi or no Madi... millions of girls just witnessed his mom tastelessly rip apart a girls confidence just because she was not her personal preference for her son. That is not ok!!!"
5. Bachelor exec Robert Mills has responded to Barb's behavior.
In an interview on Wednesday, Mills shared his thoughts on the situation involving Barbra.
"We knew that she was not necessarily thrilled that Peter had reconciled with Madison, but this was truly a little bit scary because it was live and nobody knows what she’s going to say but at the same time, that’s what makes for great TV," he said. "But, I don’t think anyone knew she would go that far."
6. Barbra has been talking to women from Weber's season online.
Though Barbra made her feelings about Prewett clear, there are other women from his season she did like, including Kelley Flanagan. She was spotted leaving comments on Flanagan's Instagram, writing that she hopes they can go shopping and have lunch soon.
Who knows what's next for Weber and Prewett but no matter what the future holds, it goes without saying that Barbra is likely going to have an opinion about it — one that she's not afraid to share.
