Why Are Michael Lohan's Ex-Wives Living Together? Dina Lohan Claims She's A 'Mother' To Her Ex-Husband's Ex-Wife
Dina Lohan says she's being a mother to her ex-husband's ex-wife. We don't get it either.
Getty The story of Lindsay Lohan's extended family is both well-documented and extremely bizarre. Her parents, Michael and Dina Lohan had a tumultuous and at times abusive relationship. They split after 22 years of marriage in 2005. By 2010, Michael Lohan met Kate Major, a disgraced tabloid reporter and the two began a relationship that would go on to be marked with addiction, abuse, and arrests.
Lohan and Major divorced in 2018 but they can't seem to stop messing with one another. They recently got into a public fight that resulted in Lohan getting arrested.
Now, for some reason, Major is holed up at Dina Lohan's house on Long Island. It's not entirely clear what led to that state of affairs but it appears to be happening.

1. Who is Dina Lohan?
Dina Lohan is Lindsay Lohan's mom. She's a 57-year-old former dancer and she was married to Michael Lohan from 1988 until 2005, with at least one separation in there. The couple has four children together: Lindsay, 34, Michael Jr., 33, Ali, 27 and Dakota, 24. In 2013, years after the couple split, Dina came forward with allegations that Michael had abused her for the duration of their marriage and it had a profound impact on the kids. "Lindsay saw her dad abuse me," Dina told reporters. "That's why she's so screwed up."

2. Who is Michael Lohan?
Michael Lohan is 59-year-old former Wall Street trader. In addition to his four kids with Dina, he went on TV in 2012 to learn the results of a paternity test after a massage therapist from Montana named Kristi Kaufmann Horn said her then 17-year-old daughter was his, conceived during an affair he had while still married to Dina. The test was positive and he met his child for the first time.
In 2010, Lohan met Kate Major and began a relationship with her that would result in two sons, multiple arrests, and one divorce.
3. Who is Kate Major?
Kate Major was a reporter, covering celebrities for The Star until she an affair with Jon Gosselin, which she claims to regret. Of the relationship she said, "I let my journalistic skills down and fell for his [Gosselin's] crap like other girls. I did know better and I messed up. Do I regret it? Absolutely."
She met Michael Lohan in 2010 and the couple started dating in an on-again, off-again manner before getting married in 2014. During one of their on-again phases, they appeared on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew to deal with the alcohol issues. The rehab part of the process didn't really work and by 2015, Major was arrested for drunkenly assaulting her husband and trying to say he was the one who attacked her.
Later that year, they lost custody of their two sons, Landon and Logan, who were 2 and 3 years old at the time. Major went to rehab, where she had an affair with another patient, which led to an estrangement from Michael. In the next three years, Major went through a series of arrests, all resulting from her behavior while intoxicated, and included six months behind bars for violating probation in 2016.
By 2018, the couple had decided to split up, saying their marriage was "irretrievably broken."

4. Kate Major and Michael Lohan are still fighting.
Filing for divorce didn't stop the drama between this couple. As recently as February 10, 2020, Michael was arrested for being physically abusive toward Major while in a public place. He was arrested in Long Island for misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, which means he was probably trying to strangle her, and second-degree harassment. Michael is trying to defend himself by saying he was the reason for Major's arrest on February 9 for DUI, suggesting he called it in.
5. They both say the other is lying.
In an email to reporters, Michael says "I WILL go public with the evidence PROVING Kate lied!” apparently referring to the charges that he was attacking her, even though it happened in public in broad daylight. When asked to comment, Major says “The guy is a liar and the truth will always prevail,” adding, “There’s proof of what he did to me. His little circus is over.”
6. Why are Michael Lohan's ex-wives living together?
Somehow, in the middle of all of this, Major wound up at Dina Lohan's home on Long Island. So far, no one has been able to unearth what led to this turn of events but both women have confirmed that they're sharing an abode, at least for the moment. The first ex-Mrs. Lohan explained it by saying she was "being a mother" to Major and that she's been through it all before.
There is no way to predict what is going to happen next with this group of people.
