Getty Major congratulations are in order for Jason Lewis. He popped the question to girlfriend Liz Godwin, and she said yes!
Fans probably known Lewis for playing Smith Jerrod on Sex And The City — he was Samantha's model love interest who finally got her to crack that hard outer shell.
Now, Lewis is about to walk down the aisle, but who is Liz Godwin, Jason Lewis' fiancé? Here's everything fans need to know about his wife-to-be.
1. Lewis and Godwin got engaged at the end of 2019, but they're sharing the good news now.
They announced the news of their engagement in an interview on Friday — Valentine's Day, appropriately enough — and it sounds like after more than four years as a couple, they're looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together.
“She loves me when I am amazing, and when I am not,” Lewis said. “She is always on my side and ever my support. She creates space for me in which I grow and I am a better man for knowing her, so the humble ask to take her as my wife, and of course her ‘yes,’ are absolute blessings to my life.”
2. Their proposal is truly too cute.
According to what Lewis said in his recent interview, he proposed to Godwin in California at sunset, which Godwin said she never saw coming.
“To keep Liz from suspecting anything, I organized a climbing [and] beach day out at Point Dume, Malibu, with friends and family gathered for the holidays,” he explained. “We set Liz up to climb a cliff right over the water, just before sunset. My buddies and I then sprinted up a back trail to the climb so I could be waiting for her at the top. I anchored myself to the rock — clipped her to me, just in case — then got on one knee and did ‘the thing.'”
That sounds so special — and an adventurous way to start off this chapter in their lives.
3. But who is Liz Godwin, Jason Lewis' fiancé? She's an actress and producer.
Much like Lewis, Godwin also has a career in Hollywood. On the acting side, she's appeared in movies like Pray For Rain and Along Came the Devil. According to her LinkedIn page, Godwin also has background as a producer, working on news segments for a talk radio show, as well as a career in modeling, at which point she was signed Elite Model Management and NEXT Model Management. She also worked as Lewis' assistant from 2015 to 2018 — right around the time their romance would have started!

4. She and Lewis frequently share their adventures online.
Given that Lewis proposed to Godwin while they were climbing on a cliff, it goes without saying that this is a couple who loves the outdoors ... and a little adrenaline. Godwin's Instagram account is certainly proof of that; not only is the gushy, couple-y stuff there, but there are also pictures of their various adventures, like photos of them rock climbing and even hanging out with elephants in Thailand. Looks like these two have a lot of fun together!
5. Since Sex and the City, Lewis has been keeping busy.
Of course, it's hard to top a role like playing a love interest in an iconic show like Sex and the City, but Lewis has been working in the entertainment industry even since the show took its final bow on HBO. Since then, he's had a recurring role as Joe Strong in the series Midnight, Texas, as well as roles in movies like Palm Swings and Half Magic. He also seems to make activism a priority, and recently joined the Global Climate Strike.
6. Godwin and Lewis are planning on tying the knot next year.
As they said in their joint interview, they're hoping for a fall 2021 wedding, and it sounds like Godwin has nothing but positive things to say about her new fiancé.
“He’s my unwavering support system and my go-to lifeline,” Godwin said. “We don’t have illusions nor expectations of each other, and we don’t feel ownership of one another. Our relationship is the most nurturing, playful and ever-evolving relationship I have ever had. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.”
