They were spotted coming out of a club together at 2:00 a.m.
From gossip columns to mainstream news sites, everyone’s speculating that Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly are an item. She’s already all over the news this week after her stellar performance of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV last Sunday, where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49-ers: the tenth most-watched Super Bowl ever. But now the topic has shifted from the star’s performances to her dating life.
1. Are Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly dating? It sure looks like it.
In the wee hours of Wednesday morning–2:00 a.m., to be precise–Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly left through the back door of Soho House West Hollywood, a members-only club in Los Angeles. She walked a few steps ahead of him, avoiding any signs of affection or connection and the two got into separate cars. But after that, MGK’s Austin Martin convertible was seen following closely behind Lovat’s SUV towards her house, and rumors started flying.
2. Before Demi, his last relationship was with Noah Cyrus.
29-year-old Machine Gun Kelly (aka Colson Baker)’s was last seen dating Noah Cyrus, where the two got cozy at a Grammys afterparty on January 27th hosted by Sony Music Entertainment.
Earlier in the month, he’d been at her 20th birthday party, helping her celebrate alongside other celebs like Bella Thorne and influencer Tana Mongeau, and Lil Nas X. Noah also had a cameo in the video for “I Think I’m Okay,” his collab with Yungblud and Travis Barker.
3. Demi’s last boyfriend didn’t last long.
Back in November, Demi went Instagram official with model Austin Wilson with a since-deleted post that bore the caption “My [heart emoji].” Wilson had posted something similar with a mirror selfie of the two of them, but the relationship didn’t last, and they broke up about a month later so Demi could focus on her health. His post has also been deleted.
4. Demi is making a fresh start.
Lovato sang at the Grammys where MGK and Noah Cyrus were, in a heartfelt, emotional performance of her gut-wrenching song “Anyone.” Introduced by Little Women director and writer Greta Gerwig, it was her first live performance in almost two years, the first since her near-fatal overdose in the summer of 2018. The singer got emotional as she began, having to stop and start again. With tears on her cheeks, she sang her heart out and when she was done, the audience gave her a standing ovation.
5. She also wowed the crowd at the Super Bowl.
Even though Shakira and J. Lo dominated the headlines with their halftime show, people were still buzzing about Demi Lovato's rendition of the national anthem. it had been a dream of hers for a long time, proven when the singer reshared an Instagram post from 2010 that read, ""One day, I'm gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnee dayyy." Her new caption for 2020? "Dreams really do come true y’all. "
5. But Demi may be looking for more than a fling, whether it's with Machine Gun Kelly or not.
Before dating Austin, Demi’s previous relationship was a long-term one: she was with Wilmer Valderrama for six years. They broke up in June of last year but have remained friends. She’s recently talked about how she wants to settle down a bit and start a family. “That would be dope,” she said. “I don’t even know if I see it with a man or a woman. I just know that, at some point, I would love to do that this decade.”
