Whether they're throwing on their capes to help fight crime as a police officer or battling flames to put out fires, real-life supermen do exist. Maybe he's creating better communities for children in his neighborhood by mentoring youth, or helping little old women cross the street. Maybe he is caring for our planet by making sure he recycles daily or volunteering at his local food pantry.
How do you know if you are dating a real-life Clark Kent? How do you spot him when he is in your presence? To help specify if you have a superman of your own, I have put together a list of ways to know if you're in a relationship with the perfect guy.
If your supposedly perfect boyfriend does not acquire these qualities, then you’re not dating a true superman (even though he's probably still a stand-up guy). Here's how to know if your guy is the real deal.
1. A perfect boyfriend is selfless.
He does things for others without personal gain. He does things from the kindness of his heart without expecting anything in return. People can rely on him and he does not ask the same of others. Everything he does for people is natural and genuine.
Even in the cruel world, we live in, and all life’s letdowns, he does not change. He continues to be the same selfless man. Is your man selfless?
2. The perfect guy encourages others to be better.
Every day can be a struggle when it comes to being motivated in life. Even during difficult times, we can find it hard to push through. Whether the struggle is self-motivation or to help motivate others, the whole idea of staying strong through tough times and getting out of that dark place can be challenging.
Procrastinating or not following through goals are common flaws we all have but sometimes we just need that extra help to drive us to the finish line. He encourages you and others around him. Does he influence you or others to do and be their best?
3. He has extrasensory perception (like Superman).
He knows what you like without you having to tell him. He can perceive things about you and others by using his sixth sense. He knows things without you stating it. He uses his ability to feel the emotions of others rather than them speaking on it. He listens to you and your body language. Does he know you and pay attention to the little details about you and your life?
4. A perfect husband (or boyfriend) prepares dinner for you.
He’s detailed, so he knows your favorite meals. He studies your interests. Everyone knows a way to a woman’s heart is food. After a long day of work, sometimes coming home to a home-cooked meal can make your evening less stressful. Imagine coming home from class or work, with dinner almost done and wine on the table.
This superhero trait sounds better than mind control. Does he make dinner without you hinting to him that you would like to come home to a cooked meal?
5. He goes out of his way to help others.
As we know, superman saves the world with one kind act at a time. Going out of his way to help others especially strangers is a strong quality of a real-life superman. Being nice to others is one thing but going the extra mile to ensure others are not alone is an important trait of a superman. Is he the type of guy that would give up the last seat on the public train to a mother and her children?
6. A perfect man has strong moral codes.
He has standards or behaviors of what is and not acceptable. He is a good productive member of society. He strives to have an excellent moral character. He is responsible, loyal and respectful to not only you but his job, his family and friends. He is understanding and willing. If your superman has these morality traits then telekinesis does not seem all that amazing. Does he have strong morals that support his character?
If you have answered yes to all of these questions, then you are dating a real-life superman. We need to start recognizing the real men who inspire, respect and value women and our communities as a whole. Although they don’t have extraordinary powers or the ability to fly, this does not mean that we don’t come face to face with real live everyday supermen. So when we do come across these strong powerful men we should appreciate them because real life supermen are hard to come by.
