Kaia Gerber And Tommy Dorfman Spark Dating Rumors, Thanks To These Revealing Swimsuit Photos

Are Kaia Gerber and Tommy Dorfman dating?
At just 18 years of age, Kaia Gerber — daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and entrepreneur Rande Gerber — is a world-famous actress and model. She has already modeled for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Versace and Prada beyond appearing on a Vogue magazine cover.
2018 was a big year for Gerber who not only won "Model Of The Year" at the Fashion Awards, but also collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld for the KarixKaia collection. Gerber also made headlines for her social media presence topping that of fellow models Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner that year.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Tommy Dorfman is a graduate of New York City's Fordham University. His breakout role was as Ryan Shaver on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which led to him designing a fashion collection with British online fashion and cosmetic retailer ASOS.
Based on Gerber and Dorfman recently being seen together publicly on a few occasions, there's speculation the two are in a relationship. Below is what we do know about their current relationship status.
1. Are Kaia Gerber and Tommy Dorfman dating? The two have been spotted together publicly.
Rumors sparked of Gerber and Dorfman being in a relationship when Dorfman posted a mirror selfie of the two in swimsuits on January 13th. The two were not only dressed minimally but also directly touching one another.
Beyond said Instagram posting, the two were spotted working out together in New York on October 24th. In addition, a November 3rd Instagram swimsuit-related posting by Gerber was credited as being taken by Dorfman.
2. However, Dorfman has identified himself publicly as being gay.
Unlike many actors, Dorfman has been out about sexuality since the beginning. In a November 2017 interview, he explained why this is: "I decided that if I was going to be in the public eye, I was going to be unequivocally myself. If anything, I was going to be a little bit more."
But Dorfman prefers to be seeing non-binary, rather than being male. "Growing up, I hated the idea that clothing was gendered. I identify as non-binary... I started dressing myself at a very young age. And you could tell because I was a boy wearing girl’s clothing,” he said.
3. Dorfman is in a committed relationship — and it's not with Gerber.
Not only is Dorfman not dating Gerber, but he is not currently dating anyone. He is married to his husband Peter Zurkuhlen.
Zurkhulen and Dorfman got married in 2016 in Portland, Maine. The two do not shy from making public appearances, as often photographed together affectionately on red carpets.
4. Gerber may still be in a relationship with Pete Davidson.
Gerber and the Saturday Night Live star made international headlines when Gerber posted on social media about them being together in Paris. These sightings were further surprising as many people had believed Davidson to then be dating actress Kate Beckinsale.
Davidson is rumored to be currently seeking treatment while on hiatus from SNL. The two reportedly began dating in October 2019, but are seen by insiders as "cooling off" while Davidson is being treated.
5. Both Gerber and Dorfman are very active on social media.
Friendship aside, one thing Gerber and Dorfman have in common is both being very active on social media. Both fall into "influencer" status — given that both have millions of social media followers — and utilize multiple social media networks for their postings.
While Dorfman is not widely viewed as a model, many of his social media postings have him in model-like poses and attire. His social media accounts, like Gerber's, include a mix of both professional and personal moments.
In other words, there is little separation between work and play when it comes to the social media efforts of both Gerber and Dorfman.
6. The two have interacted on social media more than just the aforementioned swimsuit photos.
Gerber and Dorfman were both in attendance of the Saint Laurent Pre-Golden Globes Party on January 4th. The two were photographed at the event alongside Dorfman's husband Zurkuhlen.
On November 3rd, Dorfman published a pair of photos to Instagram in which he is holding Gerber in the air. He had commented on the photos: "2020 is going great for us hbu."
Showing that Davidson is also a friend of Dorfman's, a November 21st posting by Dorfman to Instagram included a video of Davidson with the following caption: "here to give you nightmares! collaborated w my friend @jasperegan on this short film for #BreakTheInternet #PeteDavidson @papermagazine."
So even if Gerber and Dorfman are not dating, the two are seemingly closer than a lot of people who are in committed relationships. In turn, should Gerber wind up in a new relationship anytime soon, one must expect that Gerber's new beau will be Dorfman-approved.
