5 Overbearing Zodiac Signs Who Want To Control Your Life
They think they know what's best for you.
People who are domineering and controlling seem to be everywhere in our lives. They’re our parents, our bosses, or even our partners. They may not even realize how obnoxious they are with their constant criticism, obvious manipulations, and disregard for our privacy.
They think they’re helping us or know better than we do. Sometimes, you want them to just back off and give you some space; other times, you want to severe any connection.
But with astrology as a guide, it's clear that the overbearing zodiac signs can sometimes just be too much.
The zodiac sign we’re born under has a lot to do with our personality traits, characteristics, and behavior. So, it’s not a big surprise that there are some who are much more likely to be overbearing.
If your sign is one that hates confrontation or sticking their nose into other people’s business, they’re probably not the overbearing type. But if they get jealous or love to argue, they might develop a controlling personality. Jealousy can be a major indicator of an overbearing person.
It can be difficult to know how to deal with someone who is overbearing or has trouble listening, but being honest with them about how they make you feel might be a good start.
So, who are the most overbearing zodiac signs?
1. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taureans have a huge stubborn streak, and if they believe something, they'll fight for it, even when that something has more to do with your life than theirs. They can be overbearing in the way they dig their heels in and continue arguing until the other person gives in.
It's not unlikely for a Taurus to ignore someone else's wants and wishes when they don't coincide with what Taurus thinks is best. They are extremely strong and most of the time have the best intentions, but they can be overwhelming.
2. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos can be headstrong and domineering. If they think they know what's best for you, they not only will tell you, but they won't let up about it. They can be pushy when they get fixated on something. They may not be able to see things from someone else's point of view because they're so convinced they know what that person should do. And it's usually what Leo themselves would do.
Since Leos are helpful and generally want what's best for people, it's not unlikely to find oneself indebted and beholden to them, giving them a license to push their agenda on you.
3. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios definitely have jealous bones in their bodies, and they may be overbearing as a way to deal with their jealousy. If they're in a relationship, they may require full disclosure of their partner's activities.
Scorpios may also do some cyberstalking or spy on their partners if they're worried there's a problem with transparency in the relationship. While sensitive, Scorpios can still be dominating and controlling if they or the relationship is threatened.
4. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
When a Capricorn becomes overbearing, it usually comes from a sense that they're not being listened to or that their advice is being ignored. Instead of just letting it go and allowing the person sink or swim on their own, they may become focused on trying to make the other person see sense, and they may up the amount of criticism they put out.
Capricorns may not be aware that their constant criticism feels personal and are putting that person down.
5. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
The cliché of the overbearing parent is exactly how Cancer can be at times. They may use guilt as a tool to get the results they want, or they may not respect their partner's or children's alone time.
It's only because they care so deeply that Cancers come off as overbearing and domineering. If they thinks you're not doing what you should, and that you're not listening to them, Cancer will push even harder.
