Why Are Kourtney, Khloé & Kim Kardashian Fighting (Again)?
Is Kourt really leaving KUWTK?
Sibling rivalry is nothing new, and for the Kardashian sisters — Kourtney (40), Kim (39) and Khloé (35) —fighting is pretty much a way of life.
After all, their drama-packed feuds are a major part of what kept the ratings for "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" so high throughout the reality show's first 17 seasons.
Fans will have to wait until the spring of 2020 to find out what happens in season 18, and the major cliff-hanger currently keeping us on edge revolves around the latest fight between eldest child Kourtney and her younger sister Kim Kardashian West.
Are Kourtney, Kim and Khloé still fighting, and is Kourtney leaving "Keeping Up With the Kardashians"?
This latest feud may have been the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, as Kourtney Kardashian is rumored to be leaving the show.
Since their series first hit the air on Bravo in 2007, the Kardashian sisters have had many intense fights, but lately, Kourtney and Kim seem to have been arguing more than ever before.
“Kourt is accusing Kim of forcing her off the show by belittling and cutting her out of the loop for months if not years now," says a source reported to be close to the sisters. "She’s convinced this all started because Kim got jealous that she was losing her divine right to be next in line to her mom, and bit by bit she’s used her influence to undermine Kourtney at every turn.”
Here's what we know about the most recent of the Kardashian sisters' feuds and whether or not Kourt is leaving KUWTK for good.
1. The latest feud between the Kardashian sisters began during a family meeting in 2018.
The first sign of tension between the Kardashian sisters became public during when Bravo released a clip from KUWTK on July 31, 2018.
Sitting in the backyard of Khloé's home, Kourtney not only blatantly ignored Kim and Khloé while staring silently at her phone as Kim attempted to engage them both in a discussion about her baby shower plans, but after Kim pointedly thanked Khloé for "being so present", Kourtney finally looked up, only to remark, "Who let you choose black covers for your furniture? It's disgusting."
When Khloé confronted Kourtney about her attitude, Kourtney's response was simply, "Just a born b—h." Not having it, Khloé replied, "You should be proud of that. You're just mean."
Ouch.
2. The fighting continued between Kim and Kourtney during the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas card photo shoot.
Frustrated with Kourtney's obvious and ongoing disdain for having to be involved in the family shoot and work around Kim's tight schedule, Kim now famously snapped, "Who has a busier schedule? Maybe if you had a f—king business that you were passionate about then you would know what it takes to run a f—king business. But you don't. So don't even act like you know what I'm talking about."
And just like that, Kourtney was out of the family Christmas card.
3. Kourtney then went to Khloé for back up
Kourt called Khloé crying about Kim's angry statements, although she seemed less interested in Kim's point about her schedule being busier because she runs a business empire and more distraught about Kim having said she's "the least exciting one to look at" in reference to the family Christmas card.
When Kim walked in and angrily intercepted the call, Kourtney exclaimed, "You're a very distraught, evil human being. I don't want to see you, OK? I don't agree with who you are as a human being."
4. When the season premiered, Kim and Kourtney took the fight live — on Twitter.
Because nothing says class and elegance like airing your grievances with your family out on social media, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé fought it out on Twitter in August 2018.
After some brutal back and forth about their priorities as mothers, personal growth, and boundaries, Kim and Kourt did affirm their undying, unconditional sister love for each other.
5. Kim has said her issue is with having to pick up Kourtney's slack on the show.
While Kourtney insists she's simply prioritizing her most important job — being the best mother possible to Mason, 10, Penelope, 7, and Reign, 5, her three children with Scott Disick — Kim says it's all about accountability and respect for each other's time and contributions to the show.
"Our job is being open and honest and sharing a lot of ourselves, and it just seems like, for the past few years now, Kourtney hasn't really been open about her personal life on camera. So all of the days that Kourtney isn't filming, Khloé and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Because if we're not sharing our lives, then what is the show?"
6. Back in September 2019, Kourtney told the hosts of "The Real" that she's considered leaving the show.
Asked about the rumors she might be leaving KUWTK for good, Kourtney confirmed it's something she has considered, but played it coy about her specific plans.
"I mean, every day is different ... but at the current moment I'm happy and very into my blessings and feeling really good," Kourt said, "But I definitely, you know, have my moments where ... because, I mean, life is short."
7. And in November 2019, Kourtney revealed that she'll be stepping back, although not stepping away entirely.
"I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there," Kourtney told Entertainment Tonight. "But I’m not saying goodbye. But I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed. Currently, in this room."
Khloé, ever the peace maker, countered, "People come, people go all the time in this family. We are, feel like it's a revolving door. So Kourtney might leave this week — she'll be back. They all come back."
8. But during a December 2019 appearance on "The Ellen Show", Kim Kardashian West hinted that things may be getting better.
As any responsible talk show host would, DeGeneres asked Kim to catch her up on the latest developments with the feud.
"You know, Kourtney and I, we just went to Japan together," Kim explained, "It's, we've really taken the time to hear each other out. And listen, what sucks is that season 18 will come out soon and it gets worse before it gets better. So her and I have healed and talked about everything and really come to an understanding.
"So, we've come to the conclusion that she'll film a little bit and ... I don't even know if we have a conclusion, actually. It's always like, you know, up in the air. But we're in a good place about respecting each other's space and, if someone doesn't want to be on the show, we obviously want them to have that mental break and live their life exactly the way that they want."
