How The Mars-Venus Aspects Will Affect Your Love Life And Relationships Until 2021
Love is meant to be enjoyed.
We get a reminder of what love is truly supposed to be with two powerful transits in astrology. The first transit is Mars trine Neptune, with Mars in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces; the second is Venus conjunct Pluto, with Venus in Capricorn and Pluto in Capricorn as well.
As Mars and Venus, the divine feminine and masculine, transit both Pluto and Neptune on December 13th, it will initiate a new two-year cycle when it comes to relationships and our love horoscopes. Mars trine Neptune will have us remembering what matters most, making the masculine a bit more sentimental and emotional.
A trine is when two planets are within 120 degrees of one another, creating a positive and harmonious energy to work with. So while Mars and Neptune aren’t normally two of kind, in this case, we get a clash of ambition and drive with our dreams and passion.
Occurring on the same day is our Venusian transit when the planet of love forms a conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn. A conjunction is when two planets basically congregate within the same sign together in proximity of degrees, which strengthens their energies so they act as one.
While either of these transits alone would affect our love lives, occurring on the same day near the Full Moon in Gemini will really amp up their energy. This isn’t just about what happens in our love lives this month, but what new cycles we’re starting that we may not even be aware of.
The last time Mars trined Neptune was June of this year, while Venus and Pluto haven’t formed a conjunction since February. These aspects are more sporadic, sometimes occurring every year, sometimes every two years, all depending upon rotations and retrogrades.
While this is the second of each of these transits this year, we can expect that something is coming into focus that likely ties back with what occurred in February.
For each of us, while we may go through different situations, it doesn’t mean we’re on the same path when it comes to learning about relationships. As we’ve gotten closer to ending this decade, we’ve been increasingly aware of a change in relationship dynamics. No longer most of us just looking for a husband, a wife or someone to buy a home and raise a family with.
Instead, we’re hearing in more and more wedding ceremonies, “You help me be my best self.” We’re looking at how the connection or relationship we’re in impacts our own individual path.
Love isn’t just love; love can really change our life. Certain relationships not only unlock different versions of ourselves, but they also open doors of opportunity that wouldn’t have otherwise been an option. So, when we love, when we describe that ideal partner, many of us are envisioning more about what we want our whole life picture to be, rather than just our relationship status.
We’re thinking about dreams, goals, interests, possibilities and motivations. It’s not just about the love we feel for another and that they feel for us, but what that love creates.
The next time either of these transits occur isn’t until 2021, a year that keeps arising for many planetary aspects that are occurring around this time. When we start to see this pattern, we must understand that it’s not random. While they are occurring because of the involuntary planetary movement, it does play a significance within our lives when it comes to potential new cycles that could be beginning for the next two years.
When we look at potential themes beginning around this time, we must look at the meaning these four planets are going to bring into our lives. Mars, Neptune, Venus and Pluto are an interesting combination of masculine and feminine, ambition, passion, unconditional love, romance, truth, and the unveiling of something that was previously hidden.
Traditionally, we all have masculine and feminine energy within us, regardless of gender, but these two planets, Mars and Venus, really speak to that predominate energy we align with. Known as the cosmic lovers, these two planets dance around each other, rarely coming together but often initiating big cycle change like this one. Just seeing that these two are involved in different transits on the same day tells us it’s time to pay attention to what’s going on, and also what arises.
Neptune is a planet known for dreams, spirituality, unconditional love and dreams, while Pluto is more intense and secretive. Pluto rules all that is hidden from plain sight, so whether it’s a secretive relationship or someone’s feelings coming to light, this may be a time we’re able to observe something we previously weren’t aware of.
On a bigger scale, these transits are really about a leveling up for all of us in our relationships. Many times, men are said to be disconnected from their hearts; even if it’s untrue, it’s the perception of their partners, because each gender expresses feelings and emotions differently.
But with this transit, we could see the men in our lives feel the energetic pull of their hearts, which could mean a deepening in existing relationships, or the beginning of new ones if that is some of the information Pluto brings to light.
For women, it is about learning a truth we previously weren’t aware of. Whether it’s the true feelings of another or the reasons why they couldn’t commit, even what they want in a relationship. But it’s also about making sure we’re not trying to save face by hiding the truth or living in denial.
What we all must realize is that love can exist without truth, and perhaps this is part of that new and meaningful cycle beginning around this time.
But it’s not just in terms of whether we lie or not, but if we conduct ourselves with honesty and integrity in all aspects of our lives. We love the idea of deep spiritual romantic connections such as soulmates or twin flames, even soul contracts, but seldom do we realize the work these relationships will require of us.
Because while we need to do a variety of things to evolve to a point where we can work and exist within these types of connections, the most important is to embrace our truth so not only can we live it, but we can be that living definition of love, finally understanding that in order for love to be enjoyed, it first needs to be based in truth.
