Wynonna Judd's Daughter Grace Kelley Released From Prison 6 Years Early
She was sentenced to 8 years.
Wynonna Judd's daughter is back home with her mama after getting out of prison six years early. Grace Pauline Kelley was granted parole in her 8-year drug sentence. The 23-year-old was granted parole in a hearing on October 15. She began serving her sentence on March 5, 2017 and was originally set to be released on October 2, 2024. She was serving her sentence at the West Tennessee State Penitentiary. She was serving time due to her meth lab, which manufactured, delivered, and sold the drug. She was also charged with possession with the intent of sale. Grace will remain on parole for the remaining five years of her sentence.
Who is Wynonna Judd's daughter Grace?
1. In and out of prison
Grace Pauline Kelley is the daughter of Wynonna Judd and first husband Arch Kelley. She's been in and out of prison since 2015. All of her prison time is due to drug-related offenses. The most recent prison stint is from a 2017 sentence. She was originally sentenced to 30 days in prison and a court-mandated rehab program, but she left rehab early, which is what caused the warrant for her arrest and eventual 8-year sentence.
2. Arrest at Walgreens
In December 2015, Grace Kelley and Richard Wilcutt were arrested in the parking lot of a Walgreens store in Nashville. Pseudoephedrine and a receipt for Coleman fuel were found in a bag that they had thrown out of the car. These items are ingredients in the production of meth. Kelley and Wilcutt were arrested on charges of meth manufacture promotion.
3. Fugitive from Justice
On November 13, 2016, Kelley was picked up by the police in Decatur, Alabama and arrested for being a fugitive from justice. Her probation was immediately revoked. You'd think this would be enough to scare someone straight. Unfortunately, not in this case — on February 20, 2017 Kelley was once again arrested for trying to evade the law.
4. She ghosted her family on way home from boarding school
In 2011, Grace disappeared for several days during a flight layover on her way home from boarding school. She was sent to a "behavioral camp" for six months in 2012.
5. She lived with her aunt Ashley Judd for awhile
In 2013, Grace's aunt Ashley Judd was granted temporary custody of her. Grace was 17 at the time. Most teens have a difficult relationship with their moms, but for Wynonna and Grace it was truly terrible. The teenager accused her mother of being abusive and popping pills. And it seems Ashley had a contentious relationship with Wynonna, too. She accused her sister of spying on her after she found a tracking device in her Mini Cooper during the time Grace was in her custody.“Actress Ashley Judd filed a police report in Tennessee accusing her older half-sister Wynonna Judd of attempting to track her car with a GPS device,” Fox News reported.
6. Wynonna disowned her
According to the National Enquirer, after Grace was nabbed on her latest flee from justice in 2017, Wynonna disowned her daughter. At the time, a source told the outlet, “Wynonna is at the end of her rope with Gracie. She feels that she has to let her daughter sink or swim on her own now. She’s washed her hands of her."
7. Where is their relationship today?
Grace's parole from prison should give her a fresh start — with life and her mom. However, we don't know if Wynonna is standing by her 2017 decision to throw in the towel and disown Grace or whether she's ready and willing to let her back into her life. Only time will tell.
