90-Day Fiancé Spoilers: Are Tania And Syngin From 90-Day Fiancé Still Together?
She went to South Africa to meet a guy. When that didn't work out, she met Syngin instead.
TLC fans are eagerly awaiting the new season of 90 Day Fiancé, which kicks off this weekend. This show follows couples made up of one American and one foreigner as they try to navigate the K1 visa process and make it to the altar to say "I do." Cultural differences and mixed expectations take a starring role in this popular reality series.
In this new season, we will meet Tania and Syngin who are both 29 and ready to start their lives together. They met by accident: Tania had traveled from Connecticut to Johannesburg, South Africa to meet up with a man she met online. Things fizzled with her long-distance date so she headed to the bar to have a drink on her own. She started flirting with the cute bartender and ended up going home with him that night. She and Syngin fell hard and fast for one another and she stayed in South Africa for four months.
Now Syngin is moving to America so they can start a life together. But the two of them have some differences to iron out before they can get married.
Are Tania and Syngin from 90 Day Fiancé still together? Read on for all the details.
1. Who is Tania?
Tania is 29 and lives in Connecticut with her mom. Well, behind her mom. She lives in a shed out back of her mother's house and she works in social justice causes. Based on her Instagram account, it's easy to see that she has a real wanderlust and has traveled extensively to find adventure and study things like herbal medicine. Her TLC bio says she went to South Africa last year where she was planning to meet a man she met on a dating app. That was a bust but she met Syngin at the bar and fell for him right away.
2. Who is Syngin?
The 29-year-old bartender from South Africa has an Instagram feed that shows he enjoys being outdoors. He says he has studied permaculture and likes to be barefoot whenever he can. A New York Times article about the couple describes him as laid back and not one to worry about anything. But TLC hasn't let anything slip about his family or his past so it's hard to say what baggage he is bringing into the relationship.

3. Extended time together
Unlike a lot of 90DF couples who conduct the bulk of their courtship online, Tania and Syngin actually spent a significant chunk of time together. Once they met, Tania was able to change her travel plans so that she could stay in South Africa for a few months and make sure this wasn't just a vacation fling. They got to know each other well enough to realize that they wanted to plan a future together so Tania started applying for the K1 when she returned to the U.S. Syngin was able to follow her to America this past spring where he moved into the shed behind her mom's house with her.
4. Early relationship hurdles
The New York Times article about the couple notes that producers had already highlighted potential areas of conflict that might arise between these two. Living in a shed and following Tania's mom's rules were going to be new to Syngin. Tania also wanted to make sure that he would get along with her friends. As it turned out, those were minor concerns. The mellow South African handled the friends and the shed and the mom well, which was a relief to Tania. But other aspects of the relationship proved more difficult to work out.
5. I won't sign a pre-nup
In one preview clip for the show, Tania and Syngin discuss signing a pre-nuptial agreement to lay out the foundations of their marriage and what would happen if they split up. Tania sees it as a practical document to have so they have a plan in case things don't work out. Syngin wants no part of it. There are also questions about whether or not they want to have children. Tania does, Syngin isn't so sure.
6. A bigger plan for their future
While they might not agree on some things, like legal documents to pre-plan in the event of a divorce, they do have a shared vision for how they want to live. Tania tells the Times that they want to live off the land and practice permaculture and natural medicine. In addition, they each have artisan business ideas: Syngin makes jewelry and Tania makes soap. They hope to be able to build those into real income generators for the future.
Will these two be able to work through their differences and make to a permaculture future together? Tune in to TLC to find out.
