Meet Carys Douglas — She's Starring In A Fendi Ad Campaign With Her Mother Catherine Zeta-Jones
She's a dead ringer for mom.
Who is Carys Douglas? She's a teenager and the child of two celebrities. The 16-year-old is the daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. Carys and her mom have just been named the new faces of Fendi's #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign, which features the Italian luxury brand's iconic Peekaboo handbag. The photoshoot is jealousy-inducing as mother and daughter are captured posing in front of a number of well-known buildings in Rome and on the colonnade of the Palazzo Altemps before heading into the Fendi's headquarters at the Palazzo Della Civilta. This isn't mom and daughter's first work together. Back in September, they posed together wearing olive green Fendi suits for the cover of Vanity Fair Spain. Carys has also graced the cover of a magazine with her famous dad — mom, dad and Carys were on the cover of Town & Country together in September 2018.
Let's get to know Catherine Zeta-Jones And Michael Douglas's daughter, Carys Douglas.
1. Her famous family
Carys Zeta Douglas was born on April 20, 2003, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She's got an older brother, Dylan Douglas and an older half-brother, Cameron Douglas. Her parents are, as mentioned, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.
2. Her dad's dating advice
Recently, while Michael Douglas was promoting the second season of his Netflix series The Kominsky Method, he opened up about the advice he gave Carys when she started dating. When E! asked him if he was a protective father, he said: "I'm sure I will be. I give a lot of unsolicited advice, which is not a great idea, but I can't help myself!" He went on to reveal the advice he gave Carys about dating, saying: "You gotta decide at an early age if you are more concerned about the looks versus who has got a good heart, who has got a good sense of humor, who's gonna be a good partner," he revealed. "I don't worry too much about her. She's in good shape."
3. Family life
Carys lived in Bermuda with her family until 2009. In 2016, the Zeta-Jones/Douglas family moved to rural New York State. Her mother's struggles with her bipolar II disorder have been widely publicized, as has her dad's tongue cancer. The stress of both Zeta-Jones and Douglas' illnesses drove the couple to live separately in 2013. They never took any legal action to dissolve their marriage, however, and reconciled in 2014. Douglas has noted that they are "stronger than ever."
4. The #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign
Carys and Catherine Zeta-Jones are the latest mother-daughter duo to be featured in Fendi's Me and My Peekaboo campaign. Every month the brand features a different mother and daughter duo. Past participants have Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West and North West.
5. She's close to her parents
A quick glance at Carys' Instagram reveals she's a typical teenager despite her famous parents. She often posts shots of her mom and dad and pays tribute to how much she loves them. In a shot of her mom riding a bicycle, she says: "Your love of life inspires me every day forever in love with you mamma." In another shot of her and her dad hugging, she says: "My everything. thank you for all you do."
6. Her parents have the same birthday
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones share the same birthday, albeit 25 years apart. On their birthday this year, Carys posted a throwback photo of her parents holding her brother and her when they were babies and captioned it: "happy birthday to my beautiful parents, the people who constantly inspire me and have taught me everything I know. I am in awe of both of you and the goodness you bring to the world. I love you more than you can imagine. xx carys"
