Lyndon Smith, 'Love & Hip-Hop' Guest Star Accused Of Sex Trafficking
Both girls were underage.
VH1’s 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta' Lyndon Smith has been accused of attempting to traffic two teenage girls into prostitution.
According to Page Six, Lyndon “Sas” Smith, 26 and James Ruffin, 27, were charged with the crime after traveling out of Georgia in attempt to pimp two teenagers, law enforcement said.
Smith and Ruffin were taken to DeKalb County Jail on charges of criminal attempt in human trafficking and criminal attempt to pimp a person less than 18 years of age, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The ages of the two girls have not been released.
Who is Lyndon Smith?
1. The girls were underage.
Although the ages of the two girls have not been released, we know they are younger than 18. According to Find Law, the two men could face up to 20 years in jail for human trafficking and additional charges for exploiting minors if convincted.
2. James Ruffin faces additional charges.
Ruffin faces additional charges including "pimping, trafficking, keeping a place of prostitution, interference with custody and violation of computer porn and child exploitation act," according to Hot New Hip Hop. They both were planning to travel out of state with the trafficked teens.
3. Smith was shot in the head in 2016.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Smith, was at a mansion party in Scottsdale, Arizona when he was shot in the back of the head. He survived. In a now-deleted Instagram video, he said, “The doctor just told me I got a bullet in the back of my head. They said I got a thick skull. Y’all pray for me though. I appreciate all the love and support. God got me. Allah got me. I ain’t tripping.”
4. Smith was also a witness to a murder in 2018.
Fox Atlanta reported that in August 2018, “[law enforcement] said Smith may have information about a shooting that happened Monday night on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive [in Atlanta.] Officers responded to a reported shooting and found a victim who had been shot in the head in a parking lot. That man was taken to Grady Hospital, where he later died.”
5. Smith was a guest star on 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta'.
He made 20 appearances on the show and appears in this year’s season eight of the series. His brother, Scrapp DeLeon, became a regular on the show in Season 8 as well.
6. The trafficked teens are safe.
According to DeKalb County police, the teenagers are safe and unharmed. The identity and ages of the teenagers have not been released.
