Jeremy Renner's Ex-Wife Sonni Pacheco Alleges Actor Used Drugs, Threatened To Kill Her
Their daughter is caught in the mix.

While we know the stories of the characters we see on the big screen, and read about in the original comics, the personal lives of actors are just as important. A good actor or actress needs to be able to draw from their own experiences, connect with their character, and turn it into something new.
And actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye (and later, the vigilante Ronin, after his family is “snapped” by Thanos), has been going through some serious hardships in his life, particularly with his ex. So: who is Jeremy Renner’s ex-wife? In January 2014, Renner and Sonni Pacheco, an artist and sculptor, married, one year after welcoming their daughter, Ava, into the world.
But in December 2014, Pacheco filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. And now, she’s seeking sole custody of Ava.
TMZ revealed that Pacheco accused Renner of threatening to kill her, according to legal documents. She made the claims to add to their custody fight, which is set to go to court on November 7th.
The allegations include Renner telling someone he “could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted her gone,” allegedly saying he was going to visit Pacheco’s house to kill her — and then himself — because “it was better that Ava had no parents than to have [Sonni] as a mother,” and that Renner also put a gun in his mouth while threatening to kill himself, and then firing it into the ceiling while their daughter was asleep in her bedroom. Pachecho also claimed that her ex was under the influence while having custody of Ava, and left cocaine where their daughter could reach it.
A statement from Renner’s rep said, “The well-being of his daughter Ava has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Jeremy. This is a matter for the court to decide. It’s important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind.”
Renner also shot back against Pacheco's allegations, saying he never used alcohol or drugs in front of Ava, and took drug tests for three months that all came back negative. Renner claims that Pacheco has “psychological problems” and wants her to get treatment until she overcomes “her overwhelming obsession with demonizing” him.
In a recent filing, Renner also claims that Pacheco shared private photos of him with their child custody evaluator “for no other purpose than to cause me extreme embarrassment.” He also alleges Pacheco sent nude photos of their former nanny as well.
TMZ also obtained text messages exchanged between the exes, where Renner refuses to let Pachecho retrieve her passport, call each other names, and, it seems, gaslighting her. It’s not up to us to pass judgment, but for Ava’s sake, hopefully the two can come to an agreement.
