1. He was a soldier in the United States Army.
According to Army Times, Tevin Biles-Thomas was reportedly an active-duty soldier in the United States Army when he was arrested in connection with the triple murder. The Army hasn't returned requests for comment about his role in the service.
2. Tevin Biles-Thomas has been charged with multiple crimes.
According to The Washington Post, "Tevin Biles-Thomas, brother of Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Simone Biles, has been charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury in connection a New Year’s Eve shooting that left three men dead at an Airbnb rental in Cleveland, the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday."
3. The crimes happened on New Year's Eve.
According to NBC, the details of the crime are rather gruesome. The report alleges that Biles-Thomas and others entered into an Airbnb rental in Cleveland, got into a fight with the visitors, and ultimately ended with three deaths. Two victims died at the scene, and one died at the hospital.
4. Simone Biles doesn't want to be blamed for Tevin Biles-Thomas' actions.
According to The New York Post, Simone Biles is obviously distraught about what her brother has been charged with, but she doesn't want to be blamed for his actions. She liked several tweets that featured people telling others to not take her to task for her brother's alleged actions.
5. Simone Biles' boyfriend defended her.
"Simone Biles’ boyfriend, Stacey Ervin Jr., alluded to her family in an Instagram Story after the Olympian’s brother was arrested in connection with a triple-homicide. "The strongest people I’ve ever met have not been given an easier life,” the post on Friday read. “They’ve learned to create strength and happiness from dark places," reported People Magazine.
6. The gymnast has recently made clear, publicly, that she doesn't want to be asked about Tevin Biles-Thomas.
"Olympic gymnast Simone Biles posted pictures from a celebration with her girlfriends just days after her brother was arrested for triple murder," reported Us Weekly, who added that the gymnast wanted to "collect her thoughts" and was "eating her feelings."
