#RIP Bianca Is Trending On Twitter With Photos Of Dead Teen Bianca Devins — Everything We Know Including Whether It's A Hoax
Horrifying.
This morning #RIPBianca was trending on Twitter. The jist of it is this, a man met an 18-year-old on the gaming platform Discord. He allegedly stalked her and murdered her. But wait, it gets worse: He posted pictures of her dead body to his Instagram and other online forums and the internet understandably lost their minds. The old saying that men are afraid women will laugh at them and women are afraid men will kill them bears repeating here. Women are dying at the hands of men who stalk them and refuse to accept the woman's rejection of them — and that doesn't even cover the incel movement. (Incels are members of an online subculture who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one, a state they describe as inceldom or involuntary celibacy. Incels blame women for their plight.) Singer Christina Grimmie was murdered three years ago by an obsessed fan. Cosplayer and vlogger Meg Turney's house was broken into by a man with a shotgun last year. This happens far too often. It must stop — but how?
For now though, let's focus on the trending #RIPBianca movement. Who was #RIPBianca? Is this real or it is an elaborate and sick AF prank? Here's what we know so far.
1. Her name was Bianca Devins
On Sunday morning, police in Utica, New York were called to a scene to investigate an alleged homicide. When they arrived on the scene, they found a man standing outside of an SUV claiming that he killed his girlfriend. He was also threatening to kill himself. The man is believed to be Brandon Andrew Clark — who also goes by Brandon Kuwaliski — but neither his identity or Bianca's identity have been confirmed by authorities. Bianca just graduated from high school three weeks ago.
2. The social media posts
Clark posted images of Bianca's dead body on 4chan, Instagram, and in a number of private group chats on Discord. The gory images spread all over the internet. Twitter User Ian Miles Cheong revealed that Clark hinted at his intention to kill on his Instagram stories under the username @.yesjuliet. Those stories have since expired. A screenshot of one of them is below, thanks to @stillgrey.
3. He may have been a family friend
Despite internet reports that Clark was a friend through Discord, Bianca's sister Olivia reports he was a family friend, known to the Devins family. She said on Instagram: “it wasn’t just an ‘internet boyfriend’ this was a close family friend whom we’ve met and trusted so much. I do not want false information being spread around." Police called to the scene believed it was a "domestic incident." Utica Police Liutenant Bryan Coromato told WKTV: “At this point that call along with what occurred is still under investigation so we have nothing further to release at this point on that.” Utica Police received a call around 7am on Sunday, July 14th that led them to the scene. Coromato said: "We got a call from one of the parents that was concerned about some things that were occurring in the relationship at this point. At this point that call along with what occurred is still under investigation so we have nothing further to release at this point on that.”
4. Her sister confirmed Bianca's death
Olivia Devins, Bianca's sister, confirmed on Instagram that her sister was the victim of the murder in Utica. She wrote: “I hate that I have to write this. I hate knowing you’re not going to ever come back home. You were the best sister anyone could’ve ever asked for. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being the best sister I could ever imagine. Thank you for always protecting me and sticking up for me. I am going to do this for you. Every day I’m going to do my best and I’m going to get through this thing called life and do it all for you. Rest easy, I love you so much forever and always.”
5. The killer slashed his own throat, too
When police arrived on the scene, 21-year-old Clark was suicidal. He slashed his own throat, but police were able to take him into custody before he could kill himself. He is in critical condition. Before police apprehended him, he posted picture to his now-deleted Instagram account showing himself with cuts and lacerations. He wrote: "I'm sorry Bianca." On Facebook, Clark wrote: “I’m ending it today. I’m sorry to all the family and friends who wanted me to achieve. I love you all.” James Ward, Clark's brother, confirmed on Instagram that Brandon was the suspect in Bianca' death. He wrote: “Shoutout to all the people who target someone’s family and blame them for a persons decisions. Nothing better than waking up at 4am to find out your brother killed someone and tried to kill himself, and when you’re trying to understand and comprehend how the person you looked up to and taught you so much is responsible for such a horrible act, and people proceed to go out and blame you for what he did.”
6. Bianca's body and those photos
Don't worry, we are not going to publish the photos of Bianca's body. Reports from people who've seen the photos, including @stillgrey on Twitter, say that she was decapitated. Her body was found next to the SUV that Brandon was standing by when police arrived.
7. Was it a hoax?
Sadly, it does not appear that this is a hoax. Bianca Devins was a model and an "egirl." According to Urban Dictionary an egirl is: "a species of emo usually found on TikTok but commonly spends time on Tumblr. can be found wearing pink eyeshadow with a large wing, little hearts under the eyes and a blushed nose. normally wearing some type of shirt from urban outfitters over a long sleeve striped shirt." Bianca's friends said she was active on Instagram and Tumblr, in gaming and other online communities including 4Chan and Discord chats. According to the video below, Bianca was set to go to a music festival with another man. Is this what set Brandon, who has been called an incel, off?
