What really happened to John Singleton?
Getty Film director, screenwriter and producer John Singleton, died somewhat suddenly and unexpectedly following complications from a stroke. He was just 51-years-old. Now, his family and the mothers of his children are suspecting there's foul play. The Boyz n the Hood director allegedly checked himself into the hospital on April 17th with leg pain. He ended up suffering a massive stroke there and was put into a medically induced coma. His family made the tough decision to take him off life support twelve days later on April 29th, but there are still many questions surrounding his death.
What's most suspicious to Singleton's baby mamas are the events leading up to Singleton checking himself into the hopsital. According to TMZ, nobody knows how Singleton got to the hospital that day in mid-April. He didn't drive himself, there are no uber or taxi receipts and no family or friends are saying they took him. Nobody can confirm how Singleton arrived at the hopsital and hospital staff says Singleton appeared out of nowhere in a wheelchair. They say he seemed to be pretty out of it.
Singleton's baby mamas hired a private investigator to get to the bottom of it, which comes at the same time as an estate battle over Singleton's home. The public battle is between Singleton's mother, Sheila Ward, and his daughter, Cleopatra Singleton.

It's believed that John Singleton and Tosha Lewis were together from 1991 to 1995, but the exact date of marriage is unknown. Together, they have two kids. Justice Maya Singleton was Singleton's first child and she was born on October 17, 1992. Singleton and Lewis also have a son named Maasai Mohandas Singleton born on April 3, 1994. Maasai appeared in Singleton's movie Baby Boy in 2001. He decided to follow in his dad's footsteps and majored in screenwriting. He graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with a BFA in Screenwriting in 2016. Singleton also attended USC's storied film school.

John Singleton and Akosua Busia were married from 1996 to 1997. Busia is an actress and a member of Yefri Royal House of Wenchi Ghana. She is the youngest daughter of the former Prime Minister of Ghana Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia and Mrs. Naa Morkor Busia. Singleton and Busia have one daughter together named Hadar Busia-Singleton. Hadar was born on April 3, 1997. She followed in her mother's footsteps and decided to pursue acting. She made her film debut in 2003 in the movie Tears of the Sun.
