For those who are unaware, Wendy Williams got her start as a DJ on famed New York R&B station, WBLS-FM. At the time, too, she had a co-host named Charlamagne Tha God, who would also go on to do big things on The Breakfast Club, based at New York’s Power 105, and syndicated worldwide.
So, it would make sense that she’s friends with other New York City-based DJs.
However, there just might be a little more than friendship between Wendy Williams and DJ Boof. Here’s what we know about this potential love connection.
1. The rumors started at Summer Jam.
Hot 97’s Summer Jam is an annual concert festival that the station considers the official kick-off to the summer season. And according to Hollywood Life, that festival also marked the unofficial kick-off to the love affair between Wendy Williams and DJ Boof.
And to celebrate, Wendy made sure to look her absolute fiercest.
“Wendy struck a sassy pose while watching acts like Cardi B and Meek Mill from the sidelines at the MetLife Stadium, wearing a simple white tee and ripped jeans. It’s all about how she dressed up those staples — a leopard Supreme bomber jacket, diamond watch, and mirrored sunglasses that reflected the act onstage. She also wore her signature W necklace that she always has on during The Wendy Williams Show,” wrote the outlet.
2. DJ Boof and Wendy Williams have been friends for years.
According to HypeFresh, DJ Boof and Wendy Williams have been friends for years — and their friendship started back when Wendy Williams was at WBLS-FM, working as a DJ. There’s some suggestion that she and Boof “kept their distance” from one another out of respect for Wendy’s marriage to her soon-to-be ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.
As we all know, of course, Wendy and Kevin split because she found out that Kevin wasn’t being faithful to her.
3. Boof slid into Wendy’s DMs after her divorce from Kevin Hunter went public.
According to HotNewHipHop, even though Boof and Wendy have been “just friends” for years, things changed the minute Wendy went public with the fact that she was filing for a divorce from Kevin Hunter.
“50 Cent may occasionally refer to her as ET but it would appear as though a number of high-profile men want to get with Wendy Williams. Maybe they're just impressed that her soon-to-be-ex-husband had enough dough to cop his mistress a Ferrari and they want in on that bankroll. On the latest episode of her talk show, Wendy bragged that she kept getting distracted while reading her book because so many texts and phone calls were coming in. "All of a sudden, my cell phone rings and it's DJ Boof asking me out for dinner," says the entertainer before the camera cuts to Boof shaking his head. "Then, I get back to reading my book and my phone rings again. No, it wasn't Boof. It was Charlamagne! Charlamagne wanted to take me for dinner. So he says the night and he says the time and I said 'I can't go because I'm going out with Boof for dinner.'" Charlamagne ended up suggesting that since he also knows Boof, they should both take her out,” they wrote.

According to the New York Post, when word got out that Wendy Williams and DJ Boof were an item, fans took to Twitter to voice their support for Wendy. Given that she went through a lot of drama — including a stint in rehab — while her divorce from Kevin Hunter was raging on, it was good to see Wendy Williams finally living her best life and being happy.
