Who Is Ramona Singer Dating? New Rumors On Whether Or Not She's Back With Her Ex-Husband Mario Singer
Ramon Singer is open to romance — even from her ex-husband.
The Real Housewives of New York were buzzing about a hug between Ramona Singer and her ex-husband Mario Singer. The April 24th episode featured the two exes running into each other in a Manhattan restaurant and sharing a hug so tight that it prompted Ramona to comment that Mario smelled great. Now folks are wondering if the pair, who were married for 22 years before splitting up in 2014, might be on the road to reconciliation. Mario broke up with Kasey Dexter in 2018, after he left Ramona for the much younger woman. Could that leave room for the possibility that the RHONY star and her former spouse might be able to make a second go at marriage? Read on to find out. Who is Ramona Singer dating?
1. Affair
Ramona and Mario hit troubled waters in 2014, after Mario had an affair with Kasey Dexter. Initially, they tried to make things work after Ramona caught them together in the Hamptons. Ramona recalls to People: “He begged for forgiveness and was crying. We had a 22-year marriage here and I said, ‘You know what? I am going to look at the bigger picture. People are entitled to make a mistake.’” They tried to make a go of it in counseling but Mario ultimately couldn’t stay away from Dexter, though he tried to cover his tracks with his wife by saying he’d gotten lost taking a bus home one night. “I knew he was lying,” she recalls. “I knew something was weird. I just felt that he had had contact with her again. I could just feel it. A woman just has intuition. I know my husband.”
An affair destroyed the marriage.
2. Finished
After Mario returned to Dexter, Ramona told People: “I tried to make my marriage work because I have strong values and I believe that people make mistakes. But you reach a point where you realize the other person isn’t putting in as much effort as you are. And I reached my breaking point.” But the weeks that followed the initial split were hard for her, she said: “Mario’s behavior is embarrassing to me and my daughter. I’m not some pushover. I’m a strong, successful woman. I need someone who is going to treat me with love and respect.”
They split after 22 years.
3. Divorce
It took two years for the couple to finalize their divorce. The final papers were completed in 2016 and Ramona told E! News: “We signed off on a divorce agreement last September. Unfortunately, it took the judge over a year to sign off on it due to paperwork glitches. I found out yesterday from my attorney, who sent it to me along with a key chain that says, ‘The divorce is final.’” Page Six reported that she had already come to peace with the divorce, saying: “Forgiveness is very important. I forgive [Mario]. Sometimes people just lose their way and you can’t help them find it.”
Singer ultimately divorced her husband.
4. Reunion
Now the two have shared a hug — and screen time — on the new season of Real Housewives of New York. They ran into each other in a restaurant and greeted one another warmly. Of the encounter, Ramona told Hollywood Life: “Getting divorced wasn’t easy, but you know what? Mario and I are in a good place which you saw on the show,” She went on to say: “I love him as a person. I settled into that and it’s important to not harbor any animosity towards one person for the other.” As for whether the hug could lead to more between the amicable exes, Ramona said: "You always say never say never but I don’t know. I don’t think so. We’re different people. We want different things.”
Could they get back together?
5. Romance
Ramona did shut down the idea of a casual hook up with her former husband, or with anyone, saying to Hollywood Life: “I’m not going to be with someone unless I’m with someone, c’mon! I’m too old at this point. That game is over! Not that I’m too old — I’m too mature.” She went on to reveal that she’s single but not ruling out romance, saying, “I’m not seeing anybody in particular but that’s OK. Would I like to be in love again? Absolutely.”
Singer has a skin care line.
For now, Ramona and Mario are continuing to be friendly and co-parent their daughter Avery. Ramona is focused on the 16th season of Real Housewives of New York and promoting her skincare line.
