One of the reasons that people think that actress Bailee Madison is related to Maia Mitchell is because the two ladies look so much alike. Mitchell, who played Callie on the show, and Madison, who played Sophia on the show, played half-sisters on The Fosters, according to Bustle. Naturally, the Internet went wild with speculation that the two actresses were, somehow, related. After all, how could two actresses look so much alike and not be related? Alas, of course, they’re not related — but they do love the comparisons!
3. Is she dating KJ Apa?
According to Dankanator, Maia Mitchell and KJ Apa had “such great chemistry” on the set of The Last Summer that rumors began to swirl that they were dating.
“I think when you are working on a rom/com, especially the romantic stuff, you have to be working with someone you can have that kind of chemistry with and I think we are really lucky…Maia’s really easy to work with and we immediately had a great chemistry together,” Apa told the outlet.
And it’s a sentiment that Mitchell agreed with.
“We had a couple of days, maybe a week before. We had a little pre-production where we had to do fittings and some rehearsals with William which was great, so we were able to flesh out the dynamic on screen,” she said.
It’s unclear if the two have taken their on-screen chemistry off-screen, but they would make an adorable couple if so.

According to Express, despite the rumors that KJ Apa and Maia Mitchell are dating, there’s some rumors abounding that KJ Apa was actually “grossed out” by the sex scene in The Last Summer.
“Apa and Mitchell had to film a sex scene for their characters - and it was a “revolting” experience, it seems,” the outlet reports. “Mitchell called the intimate moments the “least sexy thing either of us have done.” “Bloated, smelly” and “revolting” were words she went on to use to describe the awkward day. “Doesn’t get worse than that,” Apa laughed.”

Maia Mitchell doesn’t just want to be known for her “teen movie” work. According to Deadline, Mitchell is currently filming her first-ever “adult” role in the thriller Whisper, which also stars Joey Bicicchi and Guy Burnet.
