Where Is Jepsy Amaga? New Details On The Colorado Woman Missing For Over A Month
The homicide team is investigating her disappearance.
The friends and family of a missing Colorado woman who has been missing for more than a month are desparate for answers. Jepsy Amaga Kallungi has not been seen or heard from since March 20th. Her mother, Margie Amaga, told the NBC affiliate KOAA in Colorado Springs that her 26-year-old daughter's husband of almost two years said that the last time he saw Kallungi, he believed she was going to the Philippines, Chicago or Mexico to visit friends. What is harder for Margie Amaga is that she lives in Hong Kong, a world away from Colorado Springs. Police received a call to check on Jepsy's welfare on April 4th. Police were unable to contact her and a missing persons case was opened. Where is Jepsy Amaga?
1. She's been in the U.S. for two years
Jepsy Amaga Kallungi moved to the U.S. from the Philippines in 2017. She married 36-year-old Dane Kallungi in July 2017. The couple met online. He has not been about to be reached for comment in the disappearance of his wife. "I am so worried and I cannot sleep. I cannot concentrate for work. I just want to find my daughter. I need her," Marie Amaga said.
2. A mother's suspicions
Jepsy's mother suspicions arose when just a few days passed without her hearing from her daughter. “She always talked to me. She always messaged me, so I wondered at the time why she’s not online. I just want to find as soon as possible my daughter. I need her, so I need someone to help me,” Margie said. She is trying to find help from 7,500 miles away while she waits on a visa that will allow her to travel to Colorado to join in on the hunt for Jepsy.
3. The husband
The husband, Dane Oliver Kallungi was born in 1982. Not much else is available online about him. A LinkedIn profile that may be him shows that he was a student at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs from 2012 to 2017. He was apparently the last person to see his wife and wasn't sure whether she was going to Mexico, Chicago or the Philippines to visit friends.
4. The disappearance has been deemed suspicious
Jepsy Amaga Kallungi's disapperance is being investigated as suspicious. Margie Kallungi said, "I just want to know if she's still alive or dead," Amaga said. "I don't know where she is, why she's gone." Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000.
