Are Lauren London And Kodak Black Feuding? Details About Black's Feelings Toward London After Nipsey Hussle's Death
He's sorry about his comments about London...but also not sorry.
Lauren London has been mourning the loss of her partner, rapper Nipsey Hussle, since he was gunned down in Los Angeles on Mar. 31. Some people, however, will not leave her alone.
London has been relatively quiet on social media since Eric Holder allegedly murdered Hussle. She has tweeted once since his death, just two hashtags on Apr. 11: “#LONGLIVENIP #TMC.”
She has posted to Instagram three times, all tributes to Hussle. In her latest Instagram post, she calls him “King Ermias,” a reference to his real name, Ermias Asghedom.
Hussle’s death garnered a lot of attention in traditional media and social media. Thousands of fans continue to express their shock and grief regarding the loss to the music community, and offer their condolences to those Hussle left behind. Other people, however, are not as sensitive. Many are upset with Laura Ingraham, who “disrespected” Hussle on Fox just a day after his memorial. Rappers such as Snoop Dog and The Game are calling for her to be fired.
Others are coming for Lauren London. Rapper Kodak Black, 21, has been talking about London. Some do not like the way in which he’s been doing so, and have come to London’s defense.
What’s going on between Kodak Black and Lauren London? Below are five details about their supposed feud.
1. He wants to be in a relationship with her.
A week after the famed rapper’s tragic death, Black did not hold back his thoughts about the actress. Rather, what he wanted his relationship with London to be.
Black hosted an Instagram live on Saturday, Apr. 6, and told his audience he would “be the best man I can be for her.” He estimated that London “might need a whole year to be crying and s*** for him,” so he said he would give her that time to grieve before making any serious moves.
Still, though, he said he was looking forward to making those moves.
"Lauren London that's baby, though. She about to be out here single," Kodak said. "She’s finna be a whole widow out here.”
Fans did not appreciate Black’s comments. They took to social media to express their distaste for Black’s comments. One fan commented, “Kodak Black on IG talks about Lauren London being single and a widow, that she only needs a year to grieve for Nipsey Hussle, before Kodak will get at her. This is so shameful and disrespectful.” A Los Angeles DJ for the radio station Power 106, Justin Credible, tweeted that the station would not play Black’s music based on his off-color comments.
"We stand with the family of Nipsey Hussle and are appalled by the disrespectful and poor comments made by Kodak Black," the tweet said. "With that, Power 106 will not support Kodak Black's music. #LongLiveNip."
Another fan on Twitter was shocked at Black’s confidence. “The audacity of Kodak Black to think he could ever have a chance with Lauren London. Lauren? Lauren???”
2. Other rappers called him out.
Rappers T.I. and The Game were vocal critics of Black following his Instagram live video. T.I. too took to Instagram Live to let his opinion be heard. He did not make any attempt to censor himself and his anger towards the 21-year-old rapper.
"If I see you, I’ma say it to your face. You outta pocket, n****. Get your motherf***** self together."
T.I is working on a diss track against Black.
3. Black apologized.
Black went back on Instagram on Apr. 7 to post an apology in a live video. But it did not seem all that sincere.
"If I disrespected you Lauren London in any shape or form, I am sorry. Even though I didn't."
He was kept this back-and-forth attitude in expressing guilt towards his comments throughout the video.
“Rest in peace to dude, if I disrespected Lauren London in any way even though I know I didn't, my bad. Suck a baby d***, all you old n***** reaching, f*** y'all."
4. Black also dropped a diss track at T.I.
A week after the drama unfolded on social media following Black’s comments, T.I.’s comments, and Black’s half-hearted apology, Black came out with a diss track. He dropped “Expeditiously” on Apr. 15, with explicit lyrics—in more senses than one—directed at T.I.
5. London got a tattoo to honor her late boyfriend.
London, on the other hand, has kept quiet about the drama. She instead has publicly mourned losing the loss of her life, and continues to pay tribute to Hussle after his tragic death.
She posted a picture of new ink honoring Hussle a few after his public memorial service on Apr. 11, with a brief but emotional caption.
"Real Love Never Dies. When you see me, you will always see him #LoveYouHussle #TMC."
