Andreen McDonald has been missing from her San Antonio home since Friday. Now her husband Andre, an Air Force Major, has been arrested for tampering with evidence related to the investigation.

Investigators arrested Andre McDonald after he attempted to destroy a receipt showing that he had purchased an ax, a shovel, gloves, large trash bags, and two five-gallon gas cans. Based on that and other evidence they are proceeding under the assumption that Andreen is no longer living.

At this point, the only possible witness is the couple’s non-verbal autistic daughter.

1. She was a business owner.

Andreen McDonald, 29, is the owner and operator of two assisted living facilities. She grew up in Jamaica but emigrated to the United States and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s of science degree in finance.

2. Who is her husband?

Andreen's husband Andre is a major in the United States Air Force and is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base. According to police, he works on cyber-warfare issues.

3. She was reported missing after she didn't show up for work.

On Friday, two of Andreen’s friends grew concerned when she didn’t show up for her usual workout at the gym or for work at her business. They went to her house to see if they could find her and were able to enter through an unlocked door.

At the time, they noticed blood and hair on a light switch in the bathroom. They also saw what appeared to be a recent burn pile in the yard and thought they might have seen the remains of clothing in the ashes. They alerted police who began a formal investigation.

4. They found her belongings in a burn pile.

When police arrived at the house, the found Adreen’s purse, ID card, keys, and other personal items. in the burn pile in the backyard. The police questioned Andre about his wife’s whereabouts. He told them she was being treated at Baptist Emergency Hospital but inquiries at the hospital proved that to be untrue.

They searched his car, which contained traces of blood and went on to tail him to a gun shop, where he purchased a weapon and ammunition. However, he was so nervous, that he left without the gun. Later, police spotted a shovel in his car and used that as cause to obtain a new search warrant for the car and his house.

At that time two torn receipts showing the purchase of a shovel, an ax, a hatchet, large garbage bags, gloves, and two 5-gallon gas cans. They found evidence of another burn pile at that time as well. Andres was subsequently arrested for tampering with evidence.

5. Police believe their daughter knows what happened.

Police are convinced that the McDonalds' 6-year-old daughter likely saw what happened between her parents.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a press conference “At the center of this, is a little girl… who, frankly speaking, just lost two parents. To us, it’s pretty evident that she saw something. She saw what happened to her mom. And that’s the most heartbreaking part of this case.”

6. Police believe Andreen is dead.

Police say they assume that Andreen McDonald is no longer living, and they were trying to find her remains. Andre remains a person of interest.

The couple appears to have had a tempestuous relationship, with Andre having filed for divorce in 2017. He ultimately withdrew the suit. Now, not only does all the physical evidence point to a murder, but her friends have said that Andreen worried in the past that her husband might do her harm. A police affidavit confirms that “The first witness said that the Missing Person (Andreen McDonald) told her many times if she ever went missing it would be because the Suspect killed her.”

At this time, Andre McDonald is being held on $2 million bail. Police are looking for any information that will lead to Andreen’s body.
