Is Baby Soulja Dead?
His car was hit by a semi-truck.
Is Baby Soulja dead? Rumors have been circulating that the rapper passed away following a car accident, and fans have been losing their everloving minds in the last few days. But is it just a hoax or has he succumbed to his injuries?
On February 25th, the Jacksonville rapper was involved in a car accident and shortly after, an Instagram post was uploaded on his page. Underneath the photo was the caption “Rest Well Baby Soulja,” though it has since been deleted.
Baby Soulja began his career in 2010 when he began posting videos on YouTube. He currently has 96,000 subscribers, and almost 500,000 Instagram followers. He’s signed to FloRida’s record label, StrongArm, and released his first EP, Dirty (The Soundtrack) in 2017, followed by his debut album, Trials & Tribulations, in 2018.
He’s also been involved in controversy and was arrested in 2018, charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and assault with a firearm. At a recording studio, Baby Soulja allegedly pistol-whipped Kolyon, another rapper, but later cleared the air and said he was on good terms with Kolyon, telling fans, “You can’t go on everything dat you heard about.”
And days before his car accident, he live streamed an argument with his girlfriend. He recorded his girlfriend packing her bags and leaving, with him saying, “Get the f*** out of here” and her crying. He also called her a “dumb*** b****” and accused her of being unable to take care of their child.
But despite the events prior to the accident, is Baby Soulja actually dead? It turns out, his account may have been hacked. Baby Soulja’s brother, Mike Jones (not to be confused with the rapper Mike Jones), posted on Facebook to say that his brother was alive and recovering in the hospital:
Okay, so he isn’t dead. But what exactly happened? Baby Soulja himself took to his Instagram and wrote that he was hit by a semi-truck, not robbed as many had been speculating:
Hopefully, he will make a full recovery soon. And in the meantime, don’t believe everything you read online.
