That makes it seem like your partner is in the wrong if this happens. That’s not always the case. You need to be aware of your partner’s wants and needs. Problems arise when you are not aware of them, and it shows.
There are a host of reasons why you might not get along in a relationship. The magic of the honeymoon stage might’ve dissipated; now you’re stuck in a rut, in need of a spark, but you can’t quite find it. Or one of you has developed an annoying habit or obsession the other can’t deal with.
Love, in general, can be so rewarding—and so damn hard. When you get along, life seems perfect. But life can’t always be perfect; you can’t always get along. But if love conquers all, as the adage goes, why do these spats happen?

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
This fire sign is constantly blazing forward. Aries signs have their eyes centered on the horizon of the future—they know the next best thing is coming, and will make it happen regardless.
The next best thing, however, can be delayed by Aries’ tunnel vision. Rams don’t like to look back. They can also be quick to anger, an obvious impediment on your unity as a couple.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
People who fall under this sign of the zodiac tend to be the most grounding in any kind of relationship. They are also the hardest workers—that can be both a blessing and a curse.
This attitude means Taurus can be extremely stubborn. They simply want the best, and know they have to work to get it. This sign is also very honest, which again can be a good thing or a bad thing.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
As the sign based on the twins, Gemini can be pegged as being two-faced. A more just assessment is that Geminis tend to have two personalities.
They can be very sociable, but soon switch to a more reticent vibe in need of solitude. This sign’s solitary side needs a lot of emotional care that they might insist they can take care of themselves—but they actually need some help.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers are the sign best attuned to love. They often become their best selves in love, and encourage their partners to follow suit. Their loyalty in love, however, can lead to problems.
Cancers may try to give up what they believe in to satisfy their partner—but when left ignored, this can lead to bitterness and hostility.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos have big personalities. Any partner will know and accept that in love. Regardless, it can lead to some skirmishes in the relationship. Leos are extremely social and love talking to anyone and everyone: this can be an easy slope to jealousy.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos can be closed-off at first, but once in love, they let their walls down. What negatively affects Virgos’ relationships while in love is their need for perfection. Virgos place high standards on themselves, as well as their partners, and don’t like to be disappointed.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Out of all the signs, Libras get along best with their partners. Libras get along pretty well with everyone. That doesn’t mean they’re without their faults, though, and they might not perceive that things aren’t going as well as they believe. This air sign likes to spend time with their head in the clouds, which doesn’t always hold over well in relationships.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios can be like codes that resist being cracked. When they truly love someone, they love hard. But when it comes to receiving love, they do not like to leave their heart on display.
No matter how much they love and trust their partner, they will always resist being completely open.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Energetic Sagittarius is down for anything, especially adventure. Not all situations call for adventure, though. They may feel the call to go out and explore when they should really stay in with their partner.
A Sag will be honest about their need, though, to their credit.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
This sign tends to be a big fan of rules. Rules are there for a reason which meshes well with Capricorn’s goals: personal progress and perfection. But there are always exceptions to rules, and perfection is a tall order.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Unlike Libra, this air sign is often in their own head, rather than the sky. They are intellectual visionaries that want the best for everyone. Most of all, however, Aquarius needs to feel free.
This does not fit well with the idea of a relationship, as love can feel constricting to this sign.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces are extremely giving. They are one of the most empathetic signs, so getting along shouldn’t seem like a problem. However, Pisces also like attention.
They can try to pose themselves as martyrs, and can be sensitive—sometimes overly so. Pisces like their alone time, too, so finding the balance with this sign can be difficult.
