Who Is Joy Villa? New Details About The Singer Who Wore A 'Build The Wall' Dress To The Grammys
She wore a MAGA dress to the awards two years ago.
While most make fashion statements at the Grammy Awards, singer Joy Villa opted for a more controversial gown to show her support of President Trump.
The 27-year-old singer wore a dress that read "Build the Wall" on Sunday, complete with a purse that read "Make America Great Again," and stakes in her hair.
“I believe in building the wall to protect our southern border,” she told the Los Angeles Times on the Grammys' red carpet on Sunday night in L.A. “Not to keep people out, but to protect the citizens of our country. I’m part Latina, I’m black and I believe in what the president’s saying. This to me is a representation of that.”
Villa, who is known by her stage name Princess Joy Villa, began her career as a singer-songwriter and is a Republican political activist on the side. She is by no means shy about her support of President Donald Trump and is sure everyone knows it. Desi Designs Couture designed the dress and took to Instagram to note that Villa's political stance is not the same as the designer's.
“DISCLAIMER: The views, thoughts, and opinions expressed by my clients are not necessarily the same as my views, thoughts, and opinions,” Desi wrote, adding that “It has been an honor to create her look for the red carpet today!”
