How Each Of The Zodiac Signs Show Disrespect
You may not even know you're being disrespectful.
getty Respect is something that almost all of us crave, and something that everybody deserves. People can take a lot of negative behaviors from other people — a bad attitude, a disagreeable mood, humor that falls flat, dislike, annoying, and even confrontation — but the one thing they have real trouble accepting is disrespect.
We shouldn't have to feel that we must command respect. It should be given to us freely, but some people don’t realize how important respect is and they are belligerent, just like the disrespectful zodiac signs in astrology.
When we respect someone, it means that we admire their abilities, traits, and accomplishments. While there can be impressive reasons that we respect someone, those aren’t the only reasons to respect someone. It’s always a good rule to treat others as you’d want to be treated, and the same goes when one is talking about respect. If you want respect, you need to be able to give respect to others as well.
Sometimes we’re not aware of our disrespectful behavior, even when that’s not our intention. Then there are times when we do or say something we think is reasonable and kind, and the other person interprets as being disrespectful.
It can be helpful to know how the disrespectful zodiac signs show their inconsideration. If you’re the target of it, you’ll be prepared to deal with, and if you’re doing it subconsciously, you can become aware of your behavior and come up with a plan to remedy the situation.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries show disrespect by not including other people in their important decisions, even when those decisions affect their lives as well. Many times, they may make a decision quickly without giving it much thought and it doesn't occur to them that they need to get some input from other people.
Aries isn't doing it to be mean, they just get wrapped up in something and forget about how their rapid decision might seem as if they don't think what other people have to contribute as valuable.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus show disrespect by not listening. When Taurus is in a conversation with someone and they're not paying attention or are too focused on their phone, their message is that what you're saying doesn't matter to them and they've got more important things to put their focus on.
It can feel demeaning when this happens. It's common courtesy to give someone your full attention when they're speaking to you.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis will show disrespect by ignoring someone's boundaries. When this happens and a Gemini hasn't respected the boundaries that someone has set up, it makes that person feel unsafe and insecure.
Not everybody will agree on someone's boundaries but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be respected. They can be so focused on getting what they want that they lose sight of someone else's limits and parameters.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer will show disrespect by not honoring their promises. A Cancer may agree to something and then somewhere down the line, forget them about them entirely or decide they're not important enough to follow through on.
By not keeping their word, Cancer is saying that they don't respect the person they promised enough to do what they said.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos show disrespect by being condescending and treating someone as if they're inconsequential, and that they don't really matter to them. No one likes to be talked down to but that's what this zodiac sign does when they're showing disrespect, as if the person doesn't have the capability to understand what someone as smart and commanding as Leo might say.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos will show disrespect through laughter — not the from the belly kind of laughter, but the arrogant kind of laugh. Their patronizing laugh is a message that says no matter what the person is saying, their concerns are nothing to be taken seriously.
It's very dismissive as well as being disrespectful, and while it may not physically hurt, it can feel emotionally painful.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra shows disrespect by talking behind people's backs. Libras aren't gossiping to be malicious, they just love to talk about people.
They don't realize how demeaning and hurtful gossip can be and how when you're talking behind someone's back, you eliminate their ability to stand up for themselves and have their say. It may not seem like it, but it's judgmental and disrespectful.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios will show their disrespect by talking to some people but not talking to others when they join a group. Scorpios can hold a grudge and if someone is on their s*** list, Scorpio isn't going to waste their breath making conversation with them.
They may not realize how awkward this kind of behavior can make a situation or how petty they look.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius show their disrespect by always being late. It's as if they're saying they're so important that it's okay for them to not be on time. It's a disrespect of other people's time and thoughtless as well.
But to Sagittarius, the fact that they're choosing to spend time with someone is well worth the lateness of their arrival. They hope that they understand but they're still not going to apologize if the person is put out by their tardiness.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns show disrespect by talking at you, not with you. It's easy for a Capricorn to get into lecture-mode and monopolize the conversation. They may feel that what they have to say is much more vital than anything anybody else might say, and they will steamroll the conversation and turn it into a rant rather than a dialogue.
If Capricorn respects an individual, they would be cognizant of making sure to have a balanced conversation and allowing the other person to speak.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarians will show disrespect by acting as if the person they're talking with is damaged in some way. It's very disrespectful to be treated as if you're weak, stupid, in need of therapy, or irreparably damaged, but that's what an Aquarius will do when they think someone isn't as smart as they are or as creative.
It's extremely arrogant on the part of Aquarius and not pleasant to be treated in this way.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces will show disrespect by returning something they've borrowed in an unacceptable condition such as dirty, missing a piece, broken, empty, or by not returning them at all and acting as if the item was theirs all along.
It can be deliberate, or it can be that Pisces is so caught up in their own fantasy world that they don't take much notice of what they're doing.
