Who Is Oliver Crane? New Details About Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's Manny
He's the son of one of Angelina's best friends.
It seems like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce battle has been raging on forever. And if it seems like that to us, can you imagine what it feels like for their six kids as their mom and dad fight it out in the press and are two of the most famous people in the entire world? It cannot be easy. The Pitt-Jolie divorce is take a toll on the kids. As mom and dad duke it out in the legal system in Los Angeles, the kids are reportedly growing closer to the nanny, or in this case manny, that Angelina hired. If the gossip mags are to be believed, Brad is not a fan of the new manny. The guy in charge of the Pitt-Jolie pack is 20-something Oliver Crane. Who is Oliver Crane?
1. Son of one of Angie's BFFs
With the divorce ongoing, Angelina has closed ranks. Oliver Crane is the son of one of Angie's oldest friends, her stunt coordinator Simon Crane. Jolie reportedly rarely lets outsiders into her home, so drawing from her pool of friends makes sense.
2. The kids love him
A source told Radar, “All six kids love him. He’s mature and conscientious but also knows how to get on their level and make them feel heard and important. Angie’s incredibly grateful that Oliver’s around to have such a good influence on them during such an ordeal. He’s been a real distraction while she figures out the court battle with their dad. Oliver is particularly close to Shiloh and Knox. They’re really smart kids and love finding out how things work, which is right up Oliver’s alley. He’s a bit of a geek at heart and loves teaching them new things. He not only accompanies them to cool things like robotics class, but he’s also entrusted with driving them."
3. The custody case
Things should be decided soon between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in regards to their custody arrangements for Maddox, 16, and Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12 and 10-year-olds Vivienne and Knox. The former couple announced their separation in 2016 after two years of marriage and 11 years together. They are expected to appear in court in Los Angeles on December 4th.
4. How does Brad feel about the manny?
Some outlets have been reporting Brad was none too happy about the young manny getting close to his kids. Others are reporting that that isn't the case and that Brad doesn't mind Oliver geting close to the kids and caring for them when they are with Angelina.
5. What will happen in the court case
Jolie and Pitt will have to make a case to the Los Angeles court of what their children's "reasonable needs" are. This gets very complicated because both parents are extremely wealthy. Their six kids travel between London, where Jolie is filming Maleficent 2 and Los Angeles, where Pitt has recently been filming Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, on private planes. They don't go to public, or even well-known private schools. They have tutors because they are always traveling. In short, the Jolie-Pitt kids have extraordinary expenses and the court will only go so high in what it determines "reasonable needs" are. Presumably, Oliver Crane can also speak to the kids' lifestyle.
