Miguel and his lady have been together for more than 10 years. They were both only teenagers when they first met.

In August, Mandi posted a throwback to the couple's first date on her Instagram. She wrote in the caption that it took place in September 2005 and wrote a little tribute to the date. "I'm usually extremely put together but he made me feel safe so my guard was all the way down. I remember all I kept thinking was omg I blew it he's never gonna want to talk to me again.. it was fun while it lasted. I apologized all night while he laughed, held me and said relax... I'm not going anywhere. Over a decade later, many life lessons and a few more puke filled nights lol he still got me."

2. They got engaged in 2016.

Despite only recently making things official, Miguel and Mandi have actually been engaged for over two years. The singer proposed to his longtime girlfriend back in 2016. At the time, a source stated how happy the pair were to be getting married. "Nazanin and Miguel are really excited to get married! They've been together for some time and knew that they were going to spend their lives together," the source told E! News. Mandi was quick to take to Instagram with a post showing her diamond ring.

3. She's a model and actress.

Mandi has a contract with Wilhelmina Models. She moved to Los Angeles at 18 to start an acting career and landed a few parts on Disney Channel shows, including one on That's So Raven. She's also been on a few reality shows.

Mandi has also said that one of her biggest passions has always been singing. In an interview, she revealed that she was even on American Idol when she was younger. "Professionally, I’ve been recording off and on since the age of about 12. When I was 15, I was on American Idol. I made it to the top 35. I got kicked off because they did background checks and I’d lied about my age — you had to be 16."

4. They postponed the wedding.

In 2017, Miguel revealed that the couple had decided to push back their wedding date because of their busy schedules. The vocalist was completing his future album, War & Leisure and his fiancee was working on a reality show called The Platinum Life

In March 2018, Mandi disclosed that the wedding would be happening sometime this year. “I can tell you that I already have my dress, that we have a venue and we a date that’s all that I can tell you.” She also said that the wedding would definitely not be televised. “No, we are very private, that’s just who we are, but you guys will see pictures.”

5. Do Miguel and Mandi have an open relationship?

Although the couple seem to have a solid and devoted monogamous partnership, Miguel has made some comments in the past that have made it appear as though he and Mandi may have a little bit of a different relationship than what we see on the surface.

In an interview from 2015, the singer revealed that he actually had absolutely no plans to get married. “I think it’s more about working. The thing is, you got to know who you are as a person, first of all. I think I’ve come so far as a man and I’m just starting to feel solid where I can be like, ‘You know what? I think I can hold this down legitimately.’ I think now people throw things around like marriage. I just wasn’t raised like that. I don’t feel pressure because I know that when I commit, I really commit. Now it’s just thrown around because it’s so easy to breakup. And I’m just not that kind of person. I’m just not gonna do that. I wouldn’t do that to her. That’s just not how I was raised. I just don’t feel like that would be honorable.”

He also stated that Mandi knows he's "wild at heart." “I just follow my instincts and that’s what this album is about. I think she’s learned that and she’s had to adjust and had to learn and also embrace. And I love her more for that.” The vocalist also hinted that he may have been with other women during his relationship with the model. “I just know I’m wild at heart, man.”
