Who Is Alan Bersten? New Details About Alexis Ren's DWTS Pro Boyfriend

Instagram Things are heating up on Dancing With The Stars! The competition is in full swing, but that's not what people are talking about. It is the chemistry between dance pro Alan Bersten and Instagram model Alexis Ren that has everyone talking! Right before Monday's episode aired, the two posted a teaser clip that featured a steamy kiss. Who is Alan Bersten?
1. Second season as a pro
Bersten was a troupe member for Dancing With The Stars before being promoted to pro last season. He is often the featured dancer during the live tours the DWTS cast does throughout the year. He's been part of DWTS's dance troupe for five seasons. He stepped in for Maksim Chmerkovsky for four weeks when he got injured during Season 24. Heather Morris was his partner. In Season 25, he made his debut as one of the pros and was partnered with Debbie Gibson.
2. From the Midwest
Bersten, 24, was born and raised in Minnesota.The dance styles he is proficient in include contemporary, jazz, hip hop, Broadway, and Bollywood. He won national titles at the Youth Championship and Under 21 competition.
3. So You Think You Can Dance?
Bersten appeared on Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance. He was 18 years old. He finished in the Top 6 Males with a contemporary dance he performed blindfolded. He joined the North American tour of So You Think You Can Dance. Later, he joined the Burn the Floor world tour. He also appeared on season six of Glee as part of the show choir Vocal Adrenaline.
4. Health scare
Earlier this year, before the premiere of the all athlete season of DWTS, Bersten revealed that he had surgery to remove a benign tumor in his neck that had developed due to a potentially fatal condition called hyperparathyroidism. In hyperparathyroidism, an enlargement of one or more of the parathyroid glands causes overproduction of the hormone, resulting in high levels of calcium in the blood which can cause a variety of health problems, including fragile bones — which would be a disaster for a dancer.
5. His partner is smitten ... and it's mutual!
This season, Bersten is partnered with model, internet celebrity, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue Rookie of the Year Alexis Ren. She recently opened up and confessed how she felt about him, admitting that she was developing feelings. Reportedly, she was worried he'd shut her down but that's not what happened. He admitted that he is also falling for her, saying, "It’s so easy to just hang out with you and have fun and not worry about everything else. I know that you put yourself out there last weekend, and I do have feelings for you. And I really feel like I am falling for you."
6. DWTS the matchmaker
On Monday, DWTS's Cheryl Burke told Us, "We have two hot, single people together. I mean, the show should be a dating show." She's not wrong. Alan and Alexis aren't the first couple who met and fell for each other on the show. Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, met on the show, fell in love, had a baby, and got married. Val Chmerkovskiy dated Amber Rose briefly —Rose was Maks' partner during Season 23. Emma Slater and Sasha Farber fell in love on DWTS and got engaged during a live episode of the show in 2016. And all the way back in Season 6, Shannon Elizabeth and her pro partner Derek Hough dated.
