getty The academic zodiac signs are probably exactly what you think they are: people who are most comfortable in academia, like a scholar or a teacher. They generally love learning and usually spend a lifetime pursuing knowledge.
Generally speaking, an academic is someone who is involved with education and scholarship at a college or institution of higher learning. If they’re a teacher, they usually have a number of degrees and tend to publish papers and books on a fairly regular basis.
You have to have a certain kind of personality to devote your life to education, which is astrology can reveal those who are more likely to be academic. Since our zodiac signs influence the type of students we are, it makes sense that they would indicate if we are or aren’t likely to live a life surrounded by books, the exchange of ideas, or have a passion for knowledge.
You can’t be someone whose only goal is to achieve great wealth, because academics aren’t the way they are for the money. If you love to be in an environment dedicated to learning, you’re going to have to get rid of a party-all-the-time attitude.
Academics tend to be responsible, committed, focused, brilliant, and creative. They tend to see the world differently from other people, and depending on their subject of interest, that way may seem old-fashioned to outsiders. For many cultures, the life of a scholar is revered and should be encouraged.
1. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
As life-long learners, Virgos definitely have the qualities of an academic. They love to research and analyze data. They're very intelligent, have an attention to detail, and have a natural curiosity.
Virgos do well in academia and feel at home in institutes of higher learning. When a Virgo becomes fascinated with a subject, they will want to learn everything about it, no matter how long it takes, and once their curiosity is satisfied, they will go on to the next subject. They want to be the smartest person in the room.
2. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns have a great capacity for learning, and they're the types of people who will get many degrees. The more knowledgeable they are, the more confident they get. Scorpios are a very passionate and focused sign, and when their passion is for learning, they commit to discovering all they can on a subject. It sometimes surprises people how academically inclined a Scorpio can be, but they're bright and extremely self-motivated.
They're the type who will thrive doing their own independent studies. If they're working on their thesis or senior project, they will put most of their energy into accomplishing it. Scorpios do well when they're around other people who are highly intelligent and motivated.
4. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
It's amazing how well Aries individuals do in an academic situation. They love taking classes, teaching, and just being around people who live and breathe learning. They like the challenges that academia provides, and they enjoy expanding their knowledge.
It's not unlikely for an Aries to be an overachiever and do more than is requested of them. Aries tend to get good grades, win scholarships, achieve honors, and get awards for the work they do. For an Aries, merely passing isn't an option.
5. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus are excellent students and exceptional teachers. They work hard at whatever they do, especially when it comes to learning and sharing their knowledge. They're patient enough to work with even the most difficult students and smart enough to know when to be generous with encouragement to their students.
They feel at home in the learned halls of academia and often get multiple degrees. If life causes them to take a break from their schooling, it's not unlikely for a Taurus to return to school to finish their degree or to get the education they need to pursue another career.
