Who Is Jon Kyl's Wife? New Details On Caryll L. Collins
She enjoys volunteering.
From 1987 to 1995, Jon Kyl was in the U.S. House of Representatives and elected to the Senate in 1994, until his retirement in 2013. But when John McCain passed away in August, Kyl was elected to take his place until 2019.
Kyl has agreed to stay on until the end of the late Senator’s term but before this, he previously held the other seat for Arizona, and served as Minority Whip for 6 years.
After retiring, he worked as an attorney for a private practice, and worked as part of Republican efforts to get Brett Kavanaugh confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. But how does his family feel about his return to politics? Who is Jon Kyl’s wife? Here are 4 things to know about Caryll L. Collins, their marriage, and her role in his career.
1. They’ve been married for over 50 years.
The couple married in 1964 and have two children: John Kyl and Kristine Kyl. They have four grandchildren from their kids. Kristine worked as a campaign scheduler for Jeff Flake and owned Style Savvy LLC.
2. Her profession is unknown.
Though we aren’t quite sure of Collins’ career, we can assume she’s stuck by her husband all these years, as he’s navigated a career in politics and law.
3. They had to flee a fire.
In 2011, the couple was in their cabin in Greer, AZ when they had to flee the Wallow Fire nearby. They evacuated the area, and according to Kyl, “We took what we could, but we left almost everything. The smoke was very thick, and there were times when you could hardly see the ridge a mile away. You’re talking about the prettiest area of the state, at least in my opinion, and much of it will be gone.” At least they survived with their lives!
4. They volunteer frequently.
The couple spends a lot of their time volunteering for causes involved in helping children. In 2012, both were given a “Decades of Dedication Award” from Childhelp, honoring them for their support of children. Kyl was also honored with a gold medallion at the Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation’s annual Honor Ball, acknowledging his 25+ years of service to Arizona.
