Is Justin Bieber On Drugs? Details About The Disturbing Video That Reportedly Shows The Singer ‘Tweaking’ On Meth
With the recent overdoses of high-caliber musicians, fans are concerned for Justin Bieber.
Is Justin Bieber on drugs? Back in September 2018 a new YouTube video of Justin Bieber "tweaking" — or so some fans say — had people worried for the singer. YouTuber and Belieber ‘Rachel’ met her idol, Justin Bieber. She promptly recorded footage of the star interacting with fans and uploaded a vlog brimming with excitement. However, several Twitter users noticed that something seemed off about Justin’s behavior in the video.
At the beginning of one of the clips in question, Bieber waves at a little girl who seems to be a fan. Her parents encourage her to wave and say hello, while Bieber begins to move and shake erratically with his hands in his pockets before picking up the child for a hug. He also rubs the tiny girl’s back rigorously.
Many gossip outlets and concerned social media users have determined that meth is the cause of this perceivably strange behavior and that Justin Bieber, another alleged celebrity drug-using statistic, is tweaking.
Now, in a new interview over the Labor Day holiday, Bieber has opened up about using "heavy drugs" when he was a teenager. Read on for an update to this story.
Bieber has graced the headlines for drug and alcohol-related issues in the past, including a 2014 DUI arrest. According to Hollywood Life, the “Sorry” singer’s long-time manager, Scooter Braun detailed some of Bieber’s past issues in an interview on The Red Pill Podcast.
“I didn’t want him to work because I wanted him to get healthy,” he said on the podcast. “I thought he was going to die…thought he was going to go to sleep one night and have so much crap in his system that he would not wake up the next morning.”
Braun says that, while he was concerned for Bieber’s wellbeing as he struggled with substance abuse, he tried to help him however he could, and that Bieber eventually made the decision on his own to turn his life around. Today, he seems to be thriving. He is engaged to model Hailey Baldwin and is outspoken regarding his faith and spirituality.
The question of Bieber’s continued sobriety, particularly in the video in question, still remains. There’s no denying that his behavior appeared unusual, unsettled and arguably consistent with meth use.
In yet another clip that appeared on Twitter (taken by someone other than Rachel), Rachel hugs the star to pose for a picture. He moves similarly to the aforementioned clip, jittering and jumping before giving a hug in which he frantically rubs a fan’s back.
Is there any way to tell whether Justin Bieber was sober during these encounters? According to the Gossip Cop, Bieber was blissfully (and demonstrably) sober. The footage was filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Justin was attending a CityFest, a Christian music festival, with his soon-to-be-father-in-law, Stephen Baldwin. According to Rachel on Twitter, he was also with friend and church leader Josh Mehl during the interaction.
Gossip Cop also reports that Bieber’s frenetic movements upon meeting his fans are only a reaction to the cuteness of the little girl in the clip. Apparently, Bieber found her to be adorable and could hardly contain his excitement.
As for the noticeably vigorous back rubs that he gives two fans in the series of video clips, Bieber jokes about his habit of giving them. He self-deprecatingly jokes to Rachel in the second clip about doing so.
So, while the video may have seemed suspicious upon a first viewing, it seems that Bieber has turned over a new leaf and is thriving. His drug habits are behind him, and he seems to be thoroughly enjoying a new, spiritual life with a beautiful fiance without a trace of drugs and the party lifestyle that once put him in the tabloid headlines.
Over Labor Day weekend, 2019, Bieber took to his Instagram account to share a message "from his heart" about the toll becoming famous at such a young age took on him. He said that when he was 19 he began using heavy drugs to manage the huge mental ups and downs that he was experiencing. He wrote: “I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. “I became distant to everyone who loved me, and i was hiding behind, a shell of a person that i had become.”
Bieber has been famous since he was 13-years-old. Now 25, he wrote: “I felt like i could never turn around. It’s taken me years to bounce back from all these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits. Luckily god blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me. Now i am navigating the best season of my life ‘MARRIAGE’ !! Which is an amazing crazy new responsibility. You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility and all of the things it looks like to be a good man.”
Bieber encouraged fans who are struggling to never give up.
