In 2018, the rappers released the video for Jefe, but quickly after started a beef through social media. Mill posted a selfie in his Instagram story saying, "don’t come to me about no ho!” Fans seemed to have thought that he was referring to model Bernice Burgos, with whom he had been linked before.
The only problem was that Burgos had also been linked to T.I. — and she was with T.I. first! The rumor was that T.I. wasn't over Burgos and wasn't thrilled that his collaborator was involved with her.
And now, Burgos is at the center of yet another controversy. And this time it's with rapper Lil Baby, and his girlfriend and mother of his child, Jayda Cheaves.
Just who is Bernice Burgos?
Let's get into whether or not she is really at the heart of another messy controversy, and the rumors surrounding her shady relationship with Lil Baby.
1. Who is Bernice Burgos? She's a model.
Burgos is a 39-year-old Instagram model from the Bronx known for posting fitness pictures and videos, as well as super-sexy shots. She has over 5 million followers on the social media site.
2. She's been outspoken about her plastic surgery.
Her curves are impressive, especially once you learn how she got them.
She told a website that she got illegal butt implants, saying, "To be honest — it was in a basement. But she had it set up real nice, it was a house though. It was so many years ago — I did my butt first. It was in the Bronx, it was the first thing I did right after I had my second daughter. So she hooked it up real cute.”
3. She's a grandmother.
She may be young herself, but the mother of two is already a grandmother! In 2017, her then 21-year-old daughter, Ashley, welcomed a baby.
After receiving backlash about it, Burgos spoke out, saying:
“Public service announcement! Okay, let me let all you haters know — the people that support me, I love y’all. But let tell you all something: My daughter, she’s already 21. She’s happy, and whatever decisions she decides that she wants to do, I’m there for her. At the end of the day, I had her at the age of 15, you know. I was a young mom. Now, I’m going to be a young grandmother. And I’m going to be a bad grandmother. And I love her to death. Ashley, don’t worry about these f***ing haters, okay? We were trying to keep it a secret because sometimes you have to keep your personal business private, you know, just for us, for the family. But you people are all talking so much gossip and so much bulls*** that y’all don’t got nothing else to do. She’s good, though. We’re all good. But anyway, stay tuned for the reality show that’s going to come really soon.”
4. In 2018, there were rumors that she was dating Nick Cannon.
In August 2018, Burgos was spotted out with Mariah Carey's ex, Nick Cannon. While fans were quick to jump to conclusions, Burgos shot them down saying, "Ya reaching please stop. It was all business and we weren't by ourselves. This was NOT a date. We're cool."
5. The T. I. rumors began in 2017.
Rumors linking T.I. and Burgos started in 2017. T.I. was separated from his wife, Tiny Harris, at the time and was allegedly getting cozy with Burgos.
Tiny didn't see it clearly, though, referring to Burgos as a "pass-around b****," and sparking a lot of back and forth commenting. Eventually, T.I. and Tiny reconciled, something that left Burgos hurting.
6. She was also linked to Meek Mill.
Hints that Mill and Burgos were an item surfaced in the summer of 2018. The two had been friends for a long time and it reportedly had developed into something more.
7. Burgos was reportedly then caught in a love triangle with T.I. and Mill.
While Burgos may have moved on with Mill, T.I. might not have. In 2018, he allegedly sparked a fight with his wife by cruising Burgos' Instagram feed.
"Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris was feeling hurt and ‘set off’ when she recently caught T.I. looking at Bernice Burgos’ Instagram photos once again and it led to an intense argument that brought up a lot of drama!" one outlet reported.
It was hard to keep up with what was real and what wasn't in this love triangle. And reps weren't confirming anything.
8. Did Lil Baby cheat on his girlfriend with Burgos?
The model just can't seem to stay away from controversy. In February 2020, rumors sparked that Burgos was having an affair with 25-year-old rapper Lil Baby. Reportedly, the rapper took Burgos on a Valentine's Day vacation to Mexico.
However, Lil Baby already has a girlfriend, Jayda Cheaves, who is also the mother of his son.
Burgos recently posted photos to her Instagram of her vacation to Puerto Vallarta, but the rapper wasn't in any of them. However, Cheaves did not post any Valentine's Day photos. In fact, she has deleted any photos of the rapper from her page and is no longer following him.
She's also written some messages on Twitter that imply things with her and Lil Baby aren't so good. In one tweet, she wrote, "I hate when I'm put in situations where I got to act out of character. It's rare I snap or get mad but when I do know I'm bound to do or say ANYTHING."
Cheaves also retweeted something that was very telling. The message read, "Before you get in a relationship foreal, you need to sit down & fight your own demons from your childhood, family issues or past relationships... or you'll never be happy at least not truly happy... a lot of people carrying around old baggage."
The rapper has actually been accused of cheating on Cheaves before. In 2018, he reportedly cheated on her with his ex, Ayesha. Although Burgos hasn't spoken on the speculation, her daughter Amarie left a comment on an Instagram post that said, "None of y'all kno(w) who her man is [face palm]."
