Who is Mac Miller's ex-gf Nomi Leasure?
Instagram Fans were shocked last week when 26-year old musician Mac Miller was found dead in his Los Angeles home. The prominent hip-hop star has been open about his struggles with addiction over the years, sharing his dependence on lean, a combination of codeine and promethazine. While his death appears to have been caused by an overdose, the coroner has not released a final report at this time.
Millions of fans are devastated at the loss, as are Miller's family. His most famous ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, from whom the rapper split last spring, shared a poignant picture of him on Instagram over the weekend.
While his relationship with Grande was more famous, Miller also leaves behind his first love, a write named Nomi Leasure.
1. Hometown girl
Nomi is from Pittsburgh, like Miller, and that's where they met. Some accounts say they knew each other as far back at middle school but they were definitely acquainted by high school. High school sweethearts who dated for seven or eight years, they leave behind a long photographic history together.
2. College bound
Miller got right into music after high school, but Nomi went on to college. After graduating, she went to study at Temple University. Later, she was an intern at KDKA-TV, a CBS New Pittsburgh affiliate.
3. Sweethearts
The pair was together from high school until about 2015 or 2016. They shared sweet photos and moments on Instagram during their relationships.
4. Advice
These days, Nomi is an advice columnist at the online Taylor magazine. If you click over from the link on her Twitter page you can find her columns where she shares wisdom like, "In the moment you don’t know. You don’t know what lies ahead and, scarier yet, you don’t know who you will become. You won’t get paid a visit from you future self showing you Snapchats of your awesome life in a few months time. No, you will never be able to see into the future or reach into the past, and so letting go requires a truly daring and courageous act: Letting go requires having faith in yourself."
5. Politics
Nomi's ex was famous for his feud with Donald Trump but Nomi doesn't have any real love for Trump, either. Her Twitter feed includes support for the Democratic nominee for governor in Florida and a video of Michelle Obama encouraging people to vote in 2018. She summed up her feelings for Trump in a tweet:

Nomi wrote about Miller in a short piece that she had published before his death.
She said of Miller "So grateful we had our final moment. Our clarity, cleaning of the air. You changed my life. I, yours. The residual effects of your passion ripple on. You are not gone. Not in the least.”
OUr hearts are heavy for Nomi and everyone who cared for Mac Miller at this sad time.
