We Came As Romans singer Kyle Pavone died on August 25, 2018 at the age of 28.

The singer’s band first released a statement on Twitter regarding Pavone’s death, writing, "Today music lost another great with the passing of Kyle Pavone of We Came As Romans. Kyle's tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing.”

At the time, details about how Kyle Pavone died were scarce, leaving fans to speculate about the singer’s passing. When fellow musician Yung Yogi tweeted about battling addiction while mentioning Pavone, it was assumed Pavone may have overdosed.

However, new information regarding Pavone’s cause of death has since come to light.

A few days later, TMZ reported that Pavone’s girlfriend, Allie Ciotti, found the singer and called 911 about a week before he was pronounced dead.

1. Ciotti works in the beauty industry

According to Ciotti’s Instagram page (which is set to private), she is a hairstylist, makeup artist, and model. She has photos of her work in the salon on a separate Instagram page, which claims she works at a salon in Rochester, Michigan.

2. Ciotti and Pavone began dating in 2013

According to Heavy, the two began seeing each other in 2013. However, it appears their relationship was rocky. Though there are a few photos of the couple spread throughout Pavone’s Instagram page, in 2016 the singer posted an Instagram photo where he described having his heart broken after being on tour.

“I had my heart set on being in a relationship,” he wrote. “This wasn’t teenage infatuation to me, this was years of building affection and trust. That day, I was at an interview when I got a message that made me sick to my stomach. I’m a man of heart and it felt shattered.”

However, it seems they reconciled, as Pavone tweeted a smooch Bitmoji at Ciotti as recently as July 2018.

3. Ciotti made the 911 call when Pavone overdosed

On September 6, 2018, TMZ released audio of the 911 call Ciotti reportedly made on the day of Pavone’s overdose.

According to TMZ, Ciotti was at Pavone’s house when she noticed he’d been in the bathroom for a long time. She found him unconscious in the bathroom with a syringe on the bathroom counter and began performing CPR. Ciotti reportedly told police that Pavone had struggled with heroin addiction in the past.

When help arrived, the administered Narcan and rushed Pavone to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a few days later.

Pavone revealed on Instagram in 2017 that he overdosed on pills and other substances. He wrote that he wanted to “numb” himself “ from the pain” of heartbreak, describing how his bandmates found him “with barely a pulse and unconscious.” At that time, Pavone was taken to the hospital where he says he “woke up almost two days later.”

In the wake of Pavone’s death, his family founded the Kyle Pavone Foundation “to serve and advocate for the musician community in their time of greatest need, providing hope and a means to carry on.”
