On Saturday, rapper 2 Chainz wed his long-time partner, Kesha Ward, in Miami. 2 Chainz is most known for being one-half of the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. He then rose to fame after releasing his debut album, which led to Ludacris signing him to his label. Since then, he’s collaborated with fellow artists, like Kanye West and P. Diddy.
While people often assume that rappers are notorious players or cheaters, and brag about the amount of women they have access to, this relationship is nowhere near that stereotype. But who is 2 Chainz’ wife and what do we know about the wedding?
1. They’ve been together for over 10 years.
The pair have been dating since 2006, but only recently decided to make things official. According to a source, “They’ve been together so long and have three children together that he always refers to Kesha as his wife, but they’ve never actually tied the knot!”
2. They have 3 children.
2 Chainz and Ward have two daughters, Heave, 9, and Harmony, 5, as well as a son, Halo, 2. They really are a happy family!
3. She’s an extremely giving person.
She owns a preschool and childcare facility in Atlanta, and is also the president of the TRU Foundation, a nonprofit organization that is “dedicated to promoting balanced, respectful and enriched relationships and aim to create life changing moments and help build a positive outcome for our young generation.”
4. He proposed at the Met Gala.
Back in May, 2 Chainz proposed on the red carpet of the Met Gala, surprising his now-wife and spectators. He allegedly proposed to her at the 2013 BET Awards, but never followed through with the wedding, though people still thought they were already married.
5. The wedding was suuuper extra.
2 Chainz shared photos and videos throughout the day, including pictures of him and his family. This was no ordinary wedding, as the bride wore a red gown and the rapper had on a gold blazer. Ward walked down the aisle to “All of Me” by John Legend, and the couple was then introduced at the reception as “the handsome, debonair Tauheed and his gorgeous diva of a wife, Kesha.”
The wedding was held at the hotel Villa Casa Casuarina in Miami, which originally belonged to Gianni Versace. Oh, and the best part? There was a real white tiger at the mansion!
6. But it was also star-studded!
Just when you thought things couldn’t be any greater, of the 75 guests in attendance, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian were in attendance.
