Scary New Details About The Missing 7-Month-Old Who Police Say Was Kidnapped By A Sex Offender
Emma Grace Kennedy is believed to be in "extreme danger."
Virginia State Police An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 7-month-old girl who was abducted in Virginia.
According to police, Emma Grace Kennedy was reported missing from Danville after a man kidnapped her from a Kwik Stop after he assaulted her mother. That man is believed to be Carl Ray Kennedy, a 51-year-old registered sex offender.
Police haven't said if Carl and Emma are related, though they do share the same last name. However, they have said that they believe the infant is in "extreme danger."
Carl is believed to be armed with a knife.
The circumstances that led up to Emma's kidnapping are not yet clear, but Carl was recently released from jail on a $250,000 bond for drug distribution charges.
He was registered as a sex offender in North Carolina in August 2014 for sexual battery. He was convicted and spent nearly two years in jail.
Carl is described as white, 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt, gray shorts and black and white Sketchers shoes. In addition to a pierced left ear, he also has some unique tattoos.
“He has a tattoo of an eye on the back of his right hand,” Virginia state police said on the Facebook page. “On his left arm, he has a skull tattoo and a wizard tattoo. On his right arm, he has a tattoo of a skull with a bandanna over its mouth along with a pit bull tattoo with ‘American bulldog’ written underneath.”
Emma was last seen wearing a light blue onesie with dots and a white rabbit on the left leg with a matching headband. She is described as white, 18-pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. She has a small scar on her left cheek.
They were last seen in a gold-colored Suzuki with a North Carolina license plate reading FAA 1873. They are believed to be driving to North Carolina where Carl lives.
