Getty Is Katy Perry pregnant? Katy Perry confirmed her pregnancy on March 5, 2020, the rumors were already abuzz. So let's back up a bit to the May 13th, 2018 episode of American Idol when Ryan Seacrest went off on a bit of a tangent where judge Katy Perry was concerned. It seemed he wasn't aware cameras were rolling when he suggested that the "Swish Swish" singer had a bun in the oven.
1. The moment was cringe-worthy.
Seacrest also seemed unaware cameras were rolling when he said "Your mom's pretty," to Perry. He completely missed her cue the cameras were rolling again after a commercial break. She responded: "My mom? Well, I hope the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." She winked at the camera, once again appearing to try to let Seacrest know the cameras were rolling.
2. But Seacrest kept going.
Seacrest kept up with his line of conversation, saying to Katy: "You are too, but you're not a mom." Katy replied: "Not yet."
3. Then it got super-awkward.
Seacrest would not let it go and said "Do you want to talk about it?" Katy exclaimed "What?" Lionel Richie tried to break in and told Seacrest not to start. Katy laughed and said "Stop it."
4. Luke Bryan then got in on it.
During the awkward exchange between Seacrest and Perry, Bryan said "I leaked it." And he did. During an American Idol event recently Bryan joked with reporters who were talking to Perry and said: "And she's pregnant!" He quickly added, "I'm just playing."
5. Katy shut the rumors down at the time.
After Bryan's joke, Perry quickly responded with "The only thing I'm pregnant with is an In-N-Out burger right after this."
6. Was Seacrest flirting with her?
Twitter could not get over the strange exchange between Seacrest and Perry. Some users thought the American Idol host was flirting with the singer.

This isn't the first time there has been speculation that Perry is pregnant. Back in late 2016, Bloom was spotted at a charity gala putting his hand on Perry's stomach and rubbing it. This sparked rumors that she was expecting.

Perry is dating Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom. The couple first started dating in 2016 but broke up. I wouldn't have imagined anything happening. And, you know, when you get hit sideways you get hit sideways. You don't pick who you fall in love with."
On March 3rd, Perry teased her new music video "Never Worn White" with a clip of her holding what looked to be a baby belly, furthering rumors until she released the full video on March 4th, confirming the pregnancy with Bloom in the full video, which you can view above. She also hilariously tweeted, "omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore or carry around a big purse lol"
