With clock officially sprung forward, the question of the day has to be this: "When is the first day of spring already?!"

What's so exciting about spring arriving? Ice cream! And what's even (dare I ask?) better than ice cream?... FREE ICE CREAM, SON!

The official first day of spring is coming up on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, and on that very same day, the righteous people at Dairy Queen are celebrating their Fourth Annual Free Cone Day.

According to Business Wire, "Fans will enjoy a free small vanilla soft serve cone with the signature curl on top (limit one per customer while supplies last)."

Seriously there is almost nothing I have experienced that has been so terrible that eating ice cream, preferably procured free of charge, hasn't made me feel at least ever so slightly better — and guys, I've had two different boyfriends die, sooooo, I know from what I speak.

To make matters even yummier, on the same day participating locations will be collecting donations to local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which is made up of "170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada."

That's right, not only can you enjoy some seriously delicious ice cream at everyone's favorite ice creamery (DQ for the win, amiright?), but if you happen to be there enjoying your sweet treat and dreaming of the day when spring turns to summer, you can also drop some of the change you just saved in order to support children in need of serious help!

When was the last time eating ice cream made you feel good about yourself? Can you even remember?

There are a couple of catches, of course, but don't fret, I'm here to make sure that you are prepared accordingly so you can get your free creamy soft serve with the "perfect curl."

Free Cone Day is happening at MOST Dairy Queen locations, unless your closest DQ is inside of a local mall. If that's the case, you'll be out of luck, so make sure you check your map now to find your closest non-mall location to be sure you get your free cone.

It's up to individual stores to decide whether or not they will participate in the event, so you might even want to give them a call beforehand, just to be safe. If you don't, there's always a chance you could show up for free ice cream and end up needing to shell out a few bucks for it instead. I mean, you can still have ice cream, but it won't be free.

And you never know. If you find out your nearest DQ isn't participating, your phone call and calls made by others could possibly convince them to hop on board the free ice cream cone train next year!

It won't only be you who benefits from your efforts if you do, but also everyone who enjoys free ice cream!

Not to mention all those children donations who will receive help from additional donations.

So get on the horn, and get ready to enjoy the springtime thrill of Free Cone Day!
