New Details About Arrest Made In The Horrific Child Pornography Video That Went Viral On Facebook
The video showed 44-year-old Germaine Moore forcing a young girl to perform oral sex on him.
An Alabama man is in police custody after he turned himself in following his widely publicized connection to a child pornography video that went viral on Facebook this past week.
Germaine Moore, 44, was arrested Feb. 6 after police say he's involved in a video that showed a girl who appears to be between the ages of 4 and 6 performing oral sex on an adult man.
“We’re definitely glad he’s in custody,” The Alabama Internet Crime Against Children Task ForceBrooke Walker told AL.com. “I’ve been doing this for 12 years, and he’s the top.”
The child in the video was located and found safe. Police are not releasing her identity because she is a minor and the victim of a sex crime.
She gave a verbal statement to police.
“She’s got a long road ahead of her,” Walker said. “This poor little girl is going to be victimized by this the rest of her life.”
According to police, Moore is wanted on multiple charges of child sex assault out of Detroit, Michigan. Court documents reveal that he is currently accused of sexually abusing children who were in his care while their mother was working.
The children were in the care and custody of the defendant, their paternal uncle, while their mother worked,” Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Maria Miller said. “It is alleged the defendant sexually assaulted the children at this mother’s home in Detroit and at his home in Alabama.”
In Alabama, Moore is charged with distribution of a video depicting sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child. It's not clear if he is the man seen in the video.
His fiancé, Tonya Hardy, was detained for questioning because she's refusing to cooperate with police. She was charged with hindering prosecution.
Police are also warning people to stop sharing the viral video. Montgomery officers arrested 42-year-old Jerrell Washington for distributing the video online as a warning that those who do, could be subjected to felony charges.
