6 Self-Aware Zodiac Signs Who Know Exactly Who They Are

getty It may sound very crunchy-granola, but having self-awareness is actually a very important thing. Being self-aware sounds a lot like being self-centered or self-conscious, but it’s actually very different.
When you are one of the self-aware zodiac signs, it means that you have a deep understanding of your own behavior, emotions, and thoughts. You’re pretty clear on the reasons why you do what you do, and since you’re aware of them, you can see the ways in which they affect you, your inner circle, and the world at large.
Self-awareness is crucial when you're trying to discover your true purpose in life, aside from checking your horoscope. And though not everyone has the gift of self-awareness, you'll know when you're one of the self-aware zodiac signs in astrology.
When you’re self-aware, you don’t just react, nor do you stay stagnant waiting for things to happen to you. You take positive steps in leading a more mindful life. The better you know the most important person in your life — you — the better your life will be.
Having self-awareness allows you to treat others and yourself with kindness and compassion so you end up having less conflict in your life. You understand yourself better and you live your best life by accepting your true self. You feel comfortable in your own skin and while you work to improve yourself, you like who you are right now.
People with self-awareness don’t try to pretend to be anyone but themselves. Sure, you can work toward improving yourself, but knowing that you are who you are and coming to terms with that person is extremely healthy and satisfying.
1. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios understand that it's not being selfish to put themselves first. They know they're more than their feelings and that their emotions should not be the sole influence on how they live their life.
Scorpios try to live in the here and now, and work to see things as they are — not in a negative way but in a realistic yet positive way. Scorpios know it's okay to feel whatever they're feeling because denying their emotions just leads to trouble down the line.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos take responsibility for their mistakes. They know it's easier to blame other people, but that ultimately, casting blame doesn't help them anywhere, especially in a relationship. Virgos know that the common denominator in all of their relationships is them, and that to put a 100 percent on of the blame of a failed relationship on their partner isn't healthy or helpful.
Virgos are self-aware enough to learn from their mistakes and always try to do better the next time. Virgos aren't scared to dig down deep and really see who they are, as they know that recognizing the parts of themselves that didn't work in the past is key to being the best they can be now.
3. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras show their self-awareness in the way they connect in meaningful ways with other people. They aren't so locked in their way of looking at things that they can't see things from other people's perspectives.
Libras tend to work through any past hurts they may have experienced and are able to treat people with kindness and compassion. Libras enjoy having less conflict in their lives, and being self-aware gives them the skills to alleviate conflict rather than contribute toward it. One of the ways they avoid or get rid of conflict is by behaving positively and proactively, not reactively.
4. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus are self-aware enough not to waste time or energy with things that aren't important to them or that they don't want. Taurus don't just say or indicate falsely that they're self-aware, for they know it's more than just knowing who you are; it's actually being who you are and accepting it.
When they know something is right, they know it in every cell of their body and they act on it. They don't pretend to be anybody they're not, and they don't deny any aspect of their personality. Taurus have the courage to live a life that is true to themselves, and if somebody doesn't like it, they can get the hell out of here.
5. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Most Capricorns know not to turn one problem into ten. They care less about "how" than "what's in my way and how can I get around it?" They know it's impossible to put too much energy into something that you really want to succeed at.
A Capricorn individual can get notes or criticism and not take it personally. The feedback they get isn't about them, it's about their work or they're behavior; it's not about who they are at their core. Capricorns have a strong sense of self which allows them to let in both certainty and uncertainty, because too much of either isn't good. Capricorns strive toward balance in their life because that's when they're most productive.
6. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius believe that their own opinion of themselves is much more important than the opinions of others; they have to live with themselves and their actions. They're idealists who work to make the world a better place and do what they can to help others.
Aquarius have a high degree of self-acceptance which helps them be more accepting of other people and their idiosyncrasies. Aquarians have a very clear vision of what's important to them and they try to live in ways to better serve that vision.
