New Details About The Two Women Who Accused James Franco Of Sexual Assault And Harassment After Ally Sheedy Tweeted About Him
What happened between Ally Sheedy and James Franco?
As James Franco won the Golden Globe for Best Actor, Comedy, or Musical, Ally Sheedy took to Twitter to speak out against him.
The Breakfast Club actress made it clear she was not on board with Franco’s attendance to the Golden Globes or his award.
Sheedy, who formerly worked with Franco, called him out on Twitter during the awards but later deleted the tweets.
Some people believe she may have her own #MeToo experiences with the actor she worked with on the off-Broadway play The Long Shrift. In one of her tweets, Sheedy hinted that Franco was one of the reasons she left the industry.
“James Franco just won,” she posted. “Please never ever ask me why I left the film/tv business.”
Sheedy didn't directly accuse Franco of anything but her tweets seem to suggest there is more to the story, which may be why she has since taken down the tweets.
Franco sat at a table with Christian Slater, who was convicted of assault and arrested for sexual abuse in 2005. Though the charges were later dropped, Sheedy was upset the two, who both have had sexual misconduct cases against them, were sharing a table.
“Ok wait. Bye. Christian Slater and James Franco at a table on @goldenglobes #MeToo,” she tweeted, drawing attention to the two and their pasts.
Franco admitted to hitting on a 17-year-old Scottish tourist in 2014. He was 35 at the time.
“It's the way that people meet each other today, but what I've learned- I guess because I'm new to it- is you don't know who's on the other end,” he said, later saying the situation was “embarrassing.”
“I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson,” continued Franco.
Other women used social media to exploit the actor as well, including actress Sarah Tither-Kaplan, who claimed Franco had exposed himself to her before.
Franco got another blast from the past via Twitter from a girl claiming he propositioned a minor on a separate occasion.
Ironically, Franco wore a #TimesUp pin to the awards Sunday. He has yet to comment on the allegations.
