Sure, we see TV shows about roommates where one of the roommates is a slob and the other is a neat freak and they somehow manage to make it work. But the truth is, 9 times out of 10 it doesn’t work, and someone's horoscope is a good indicator of that.
What if you’re somebody who showers all the time — could you live with someone who rarely showered? Or, what if the showered regularly but left the bathroom looking like a hurricane hit? No one wants a roommate who is inconsiderate: eating food without replacing it, never picking up after themselves, or doing disgusting things like clipping their toenails in communal areas.
But it’s not just someone's actions that make a bad living situation, it’s someone’s attitude. What if the person you’re living with acts like they’re living alone, constantly walking around naked or always listening to the TV too loudly?
We all have a bunch of weird little habits and sometimes those habits don’t go well together. I don’t think I could live with someone without a sense of humor, but somebody else might not be able to live with someone who had pets.
Before you start living with someone, it’s good to know what to expect. A bad roommate situation can destroy a relationship and make it so that you never want to have anything to do with that person ever again.
Instead, see what astrology has to say. Here are the zodiac signs who hard to live with, ranked from most to least.
1. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
You know that — the stars don't need to tell you — how overcritical, perfectionist, and fussy Virgos can be. They like things the way they like them and if you borrow some piece of clothing of theirs and don't return it in pristine condition, or you blow off cleaning the bathroom for a week, there's going to be a problem.
Also, while Virgos have many fine qualities, sugar-coating isn't one of them. Virgos can be harsh, so if you're sensitive at all to criticism, they might not be your first choice of person to live with.
Virgos are very helpful and know everything but may not let you do things yourself because you'll just mess them up. You might feel as if you're walking on eggshells in your own home if you live with a Virgo.
2. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
With Aquarius, it's that no-emotion thing that makes them difficult to live with. They're not going to encourage you to spill your guts to them; in fact, they'd prefer it if you keep your feelings to yourself as emotional displays make them extremely uncomfortable.
Aquarians are extremely independent so if you want to live with someone who you can hang out with all the time, there could be some issues there, and when they're feeling social, expect their eclectic bunch of friends staying until all hours of the night. Every household has rules, but following rules isn't Aquarius thing, so be prepared.
3. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarians like to be on the move, so it's not unlikely that you might not see your Sagittarius roomie as much as you would like. If things get tense around the house or there's something serious that needs to be discussed, Sagittarius may suddenly have an urge to go to Russia or Australia.
Sagittarians do care and they want to hear what you're going through, they just need to deal with their own issues first. Sagittarians have great senses of humor; however, they sometimes don't have the best sense of when they should display it. If you want their honest opinion, Sagittarius will give it to you, and if you don't want their honest opinion, they'll give it to you anyway.
4. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
When you live with a Pisces, you may feel that even when they're in the same room with you, they're not present. This is because Pisces individuals have a very rich dream life and imagination and are constantly daydreaming or fantasizing (no, not just about sex).
They're very creative and will drop whatever they're doing to write down that great idea or work on their painting. Creativity doesn't always mean messiness, but it tends to with Pisces. They're too busy creating to do their share of the housework.
Pisces also appear to be extreme when it comes to possessions — either they're minimalists or they're packrats, and there's not usually a middle ground.
5. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos need a lot of attention, and when they're home, they don't have as much access to their throngs of adoring fans. If you're too busy with your own life to stroke their egos, there could be difficulties.
Leos love to entertain, so if you're more of an introvert when it comes to your home life, you could find it challenging to live with a Leo. They are very generous, so they'll certainly buy more than their share of the groceries, and they're very kind and helpful. Leos don't have a lot of patience and may not understand if you like to do things at a slower pace.
6. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus can be tricky to live with because they're extremely stubborn and won't compromise. If they don't want to do some household chore, they will not do it. It doesn't matter if you do a whole presentation on how you shouldn't have to all the yard work yourself, if Taurus doesn't want to get her nails dirty, she's not going to see the validity of your argument.
Taurus tend to overspend on luxury items, so if you're on a budget, Taurus may not honor it. Don't assume that Taurus is cool with you having some of their food — if they feel like sharing it with you, they'll let you know.
7. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
The good news is that Aries are fun and you'll never be bored living with them. The bad news is that they can be inconsiderate and blunt. They won't stop and think about if the thing they're about to say will hurt you, they'll just say it and apologize later.
They have zero patience and they don't like people who take forever doing things. If you're someone who takes a long time making decisions or making sure that something is perfect, there could be a problem.
Aries sometimes lack discipline which may factor in how they are to live with — they could be too busy with fun activities to do chores around the house. Their rent may be late, but they'll encourage you to pursue your dreams, so there's a bit of a trade-off when living with them.
8. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios are passionate and intuitive people — they may know what you're feeling before you've even processed it. The qualities that make Scorpio difficult to live with are that they tend to be mysterious, jealous, and manipulative. They want to be the alpha dog in a living situation.
They may rationalize how their snooping around is really in your best interest and how it's okay for them to be secretive, even when they demand that you be an open book. However, once you've earned Scorpio's trust, you will have a loyal friend in them forever.
9. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis aren't too difficult to live with as long as you're patient with their flakiness and inability to make decisions. You may not know what mood you're going to find your Gemini in, but for the most part, they're fun, great to talk to, and they have the ability to make it seem as if everything is going to work out fine.
Pro tip: If you want Gemini to do something on time, such as pay their share of the rent or meet for dinner, you've got to trick them. Say that dinner is at 7 PM when it's really at 7:30 PM, or say that the rent is due on the 15th when it's due on the 30th.
10. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras are one of the most enjoyable signs to live with. They strive to have a harmonious and comfortable home. They're gracious and will listen to you when you need to have a heart to heart talk.
They can be somewhat lazy unless motivated otherwise, and their indecisiveness can be annoying. Make sure that the Libra is comfortable expressing their negative emotions or they'll hold them in until they blow up at an inappropriate moment. It's better for everyone if they just express their emotions as they happen rather than pushing them down.
11. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns are one of the best signs to live with. They're extremely responsible, dependable, and reliable. They'll make sure that the bills get paid and that everything is working the way it should be. They may make schedules and lists but they won't be unreasonable if you fail to follow them.
Capricorns don't have unreasonable expectations of other people; they respect that everyone has their own capabilities and talents. If you need advice, there's no one better to ask than wise Capricorn. The biggest surprise about living with a Capricorn is that you'll discover how fun and funny they are.
12. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Home is extremely important for Cancer and if they're living with you, they'll try to bond with you as quickly as possible. The Cancer individual will be there for you whenever you need them. They truly care about people and it's in their nature to nurture and protect them.
They can be somewhat possessive and clingy but no one's perfect, but as a partner or a roommate, Cancers come pretty close. Try not to take advantage of Cancer and make sure to do your part in helping the household run smoothly because Cancer will do everything if you let them.
