6 Quick, All Natural UTI Cures And Remedies
Try these at-home solutions.
Some people get them all the time, and some people are lucky enough to completely dodge them. Let’s face it, going to a walk-in clinic SUCKS, especially when it’s for a bladder infection. I hate having to spend half of my day waiting to see a doctor when I know what I have, and what I really need to cure it. Yes, I know I have a bladder infection because it hurts to pee, and it feels like I have to go ALL the time. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could cure it on our own, and skip seeing a doctor?
Check out these at-home-remedies to avoid going to a walk-in.
1. Load up on water.
If you feel like you’re starting to get a UTI, drink plenty of water. This will help flush out all that bacteria that’s causing your bladder to hurt. Try and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day!
2. Over the counter pain relief is okay.
If you’re feeling the sting, don’t be afraid to curl up with a heating pad and catch up on the latest Netflix Originals. Over the counter products such as AZO Maximum Strength Urinary Pain Relief Tablets are cheap and work wonders for those few recovery days. Be forewarned: your urine may turn a Kool-aid orange type of color with these.
3. Natural fruit juice.
Although water is always there to clean things up, fruit juices like cranberry and apple are amazing alternatives! Cranberry juice is more of something you should take if you get bladder infections a lot. It keeps it from coming back. But, if you do choose your juices over your water, try to keep it sugar-free.
4. Avoid the sugar.
Ditch the sugar if you think you have a bladder infection. Sugary sweets may seem like a good stress reliever, but they may cause more damage. If you feel any symptoms, you may be susceptible to any other potential infections creeping in (or it could make your UTI worse) and sugar is one of those things that just loves to throw us off down there.
5. Apple cider vinegar.
A lot of people call this the natural antibiotic because it has enzymes, potassium, and other minerals in it to get rid of bacteria. If you feel a UTI coming on, put two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink up! Drinks this twice a day until you feel better.
6. Keep peeing.
If you need to pee, GO! I know when you have a bladder infection it feels like all you have to do is go to the bathroom. But, you need to empty out your bladder as much as you can. Every time you make that bathroom run you’re getting rid of bacteria. So drink up, and keep peeing.
Infections are never fun (unless you get to be home from school and watch Netflix), and they don’t all have to take weeks to recover from. Drink your water, let it out, and if anything serious starts up, do not hesitate to call a doctor – it’s better to be safe than sorry, especially with any issues down below. Stay hydrated, stay safe, and stay healthy friends!
