weheartit Every now and then I hear someone say that they think it would be romantic to have a stalker. What?! Is anyone really that desperate for attention that they wish someone would come along and turn their life into a nightmare?
It’s one thing to have an admirer. Whether the feeling is mutual or not, knowing that someone is interested or even in love with you makes you feel kind of special.
Being stalked is something else entirely. It’s not romantic. It’s not fun or flattering. Stalkers are annoying at best, and dangerous at worst. If someone truly loves you, they’ll respect your wishes and your boundaries.
But when they won’t leave you alone when you tell them to back off, when they leave threatening notes, harass your friends and family, and make you afraid to leave your house by yourself, that’s not love. That’s someone whose mental instability just happened to fixate on you, and that’s just scary.
There’s no way to tell just by someone’s zodiac sign whether or not they’re going to be a stalker, of course. It depends on someone’s mental health and how they relate (or don’t) to other people and their own emotions.
All of the signs have negative traits and the potential to express these traits as stalker behavior. Based just on their general qualities and sometimes their horoscope, though, some Sun signs could be more prone to this than others.
If you have an admirer that makes you feel more uncomfortable than flattered, don’t encourage them. If they threaten you, go to the police. Your safety and peace of mind are more important than your ego. Here are the zodiac signs most likely to be stalkers.
1. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries is one of the most independent signs in the zodiac, and as such, they’re not likely to feel like they need someone else badly enough to become a stalker. But Aries is also determined to have things their own way, and they’re ruled by Mars, the planet of passion, lust, and rage.
When hard-headed Aries decides that someone else should be a part of their lives, it’s hard to get them to change their minds about it. A simple “no” isn’t enough for an unstable Aries.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is usually peaceful and accommodating, but they also tend to be obsessive-compulsive. They get frantic when something doesn’t go according to their carefully-designed plans.
Virgo is a thorough researcher, and once they’ve got their mind on someone, they will tirelessly examine all of their victim’s social media posts and photos over the years. A Virgo stalker will learn everything about your life that you’ve ever made public… and then dig deeper to find the things that you didn’t.
3. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini’s sense of self is defined through their interactions with other people. Usually, they can very easily move from one person or crowd to another, changing their attitudes accordingly, like a social chameleon.
But now and then a Gemini sees something bright in someone else that they desperately want to absorb, to make a part of themselves. They become dependent on this person and may even begin to think of themselves as non-existent when they’re not around. Gemini is one of the zodiac signs most likely to be stalkers, but as a non-romantic stalker and one of those friends who just won’t go away.
4. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn is the sign of self-discipline, so they don’t usually let their emotions get away with them. However, no one can escape their emotions completely, and Capricorn’s strong goal-oriented nature will sometimes cause them to focus way too intently on something they simply cannot have.
Capricorn is patient and persistent: a Capricorn stalker may disappear for awhile, but you can be sure that they’re still watching, waiting, and planning for the perfect opportunity to come back into your life.
5. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces’ life revolves around other people and their emotional connections with them. This is one of the most imaginative signs, and the downside to this is that they can become downright delusional.
It’s hard for Pisces to deal with unrequited love. They’d rather just stick with the romantic story that they’re telling themselves in their head. A Pisces stalker may not be the most dangerous (their natural passiveness makes it difficult for them to physically hurt others) but they’re certainly one of the most tenacious.
Pisces doesn’t mean any harm. They just don't know how to let go.
6. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus is normally a gentle, peaceful sign, but their negative points are possessiveness and a mean stubborn streak. A Taurus stalker feels like the object of their affections is just that: not so much a person with feelings and preferences, but a prize to be won, owned, and guarded.
Taurus’ proprietary nature, when out of control, turns their natural competitiveness into something dark and predatory. Like the bull for which it’s named, Taurus’ temper is terrifying when they perceive a threat to something they feel belongs to them.
