Awful New Details About The Married Father Who Traveled 1,000 Miles To Orlando To Rape A 9-Year-Old Girl
Police say he brought candy and lube with him.
Mark Andrew Nichols, a 64-year-old father of two, was arrested Oct. 7 in Orlando, Florida with Sour Patch Kids candy, a bag of Skittles and a bottle of lubricant after police say he traveled 1,000 miles from Austin, Texas to rape a girl he thought was 9 years old after communicating with people he thought were her parents to arrange the whole encounter.
As it turns out, it wasn't a child and her parents — it was undercover detectives.
Police created a fake ad on a website posing as a mother and father who wanted to meet "experienced parents to learn new things from raising little ones." The post was created to deliberately entice potential predators.
Nichols sent multiple emails and texts to the fake family, describing sex acts he wanted to perform on them and the child.

When the fake dad told Nichols that he and his wife were trying to get their 9-year-old daughter into modeling and asked him what kind of "interests" he had with her.
"When you say interests, are you asking generally? Or sexually?" he responded.
Nichols then told the "couple" he was fascinated with incest and described it as an "extreme turn on."
He said he wanted to have sex with the girl but wanted to make sure her parents were comfortable with it first. Nichols told the father that he would love for her dad to watch or participate.
"I am extremely respectful about all of this," he said.
Nichols said he was planning a trip to the Orlando area and wanted to meet the family.
"I would like to visit you all. I am interested in having sex with the child and the child's mother," he wrote. "I am bi so I am open to some bi play with you if you are interested. If you are not, that is fine."
He went on to say:
"I would maybe like to watch you have sex with the child. Be there. Touch and re-assure her. Then have sex with her myself. Would the child want to watch me with mom? I want to be respectful and just provide you all with a fun, safe experience."
When asked if he had any children or if he had done any of the things he described to his only child, he said he "enjoyed bath time" with his own daughter, but "back then, I would just never do anything."
He was charged with attempted sexual battery of a child younger than 12, attempted lewd or lascivious conduct, solicitation of a minor via computer obscene communication and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
